Transparency on the paint tool looks confirmed by the "Brightest Day" video. There's no background to the green lantern logo when they apply it. This could be very good for the custom tats I have in mind...

According to the IGN article that's up as well, any created logo you put on a CAW is mapped onto him/her, so even if you delete the logo itself, it actually stay on that CAW unless you delete it from the CAW. That makes the 20 slot limit seem not so bad if you can just make your material, put it where you want it and then delete the logo itself to make room for another one.
