The bell rang, and the ring announcer made the official result heard throughout the arena. Jeremy's hand was raised victoriously by the referee, and you could see a satisfied grin on his face.
As his them begins to play, he rolls out of the ring and towards the timekeeper's table, demanding a microphone.
Matt: What's this? Pendelton is asking for a microphone here. Doesn't surprise me that he has something to say...again.
How many more times? How many more times do I have to silence another wrestler's opinion before each one of you get the message that Jeremy Pendelton says what he means, and means what he says?
The arena filled with boos.
I guess it really doesn't matter to you idiots, does it? You people make me sick. All this is to you is a popularity contest! Do you want to know why this business has become what it has? It's because of stupid people like you who judge a competitor by what he says, or how he acts, and not what he does inside of that ring.
I've told you...I've TOLD you time and again that I am the one true and best new competitor the XWA, no...all of professional wrestling has ever seen. I guess no matter how many times I say it, or how many times I prove it, you people are just going to continue to blow it off as me being "cocky".
Well, I've got news for all of you. Each one of you sitting in this arena, and each one of you watching at home. The announcers, the writers, everyone! I'm going to make things perfectly clear right here and right now...
Jeremy Pendelton doesn't need your approval.
Jeremy Pendelton doesn't need your popularity...
...and he sure as hell doesn't need to prove a damn thing to any of you people in the crowd, or in the back. I don't need to prove how good I am, that's just how good I am!
If anyone has a problem with that, you can take it up with me in the ring...and I'll gladly take you down in the ring for your troubles.
And then he tosses the mic back onto the table as he marches off backstage to the jeers of the crowd.
Matt: I'm not going to doubt that this young man isn't good at what he does. Jeremy Pendelton just does come off as being a bit "overconfident" though. Some strong words though by him though, and they aren't going to sit very well with these fans I'm sure.
