Tony: Welcome back to Overload, ladies and gents. At this time, we send things backstage to Joe Beakman where he's standing by with the mastermind behind Upper Echelon, Scott O'Dell.
Last week, you went one on one with on of, no...your single most longest standing rival in XWA, Ryan Fierhart...and you out dueled him in one of the best matches we've seen on Overload to date.
You almost sound surprised, Beakman. As if Ryan was going to come back to XWA after months off and play Mr. Spoiler. That's the problem with you marks. You think that everything is scripted. XWA's not about sports entertainment, and Upper Echelon...namely me...isn't about playing by the numbers. Ryan decided he wanted play Mr. Hero, and he paid for it. He wanted to play spoiler, and it backfired. So what comes next? *Heh heh* I'll tell you what comes next. More of the same for Mr. Fierhart. I know that I'm booked to face him again tonight. And if I were a gambling man, I'd put all my chips on The Franchise. I don't know what Ryan's been up to the past several months since he was away, but I know what I've been up to. Staying the best in the business. Now...don't get me wrong. It's not a matter of me not respecting Ryan. Sure, we haven't seen eye to eye in the past, but that doesn't at all entail that I don't respect the man. But that's where it ends, Beakman. Ryan Fierhart's a chapter I put behind me years ago, who's decided he wanted to come back into the picture because he sees I'm that close to reaching my ultimate goal. A goal he himself failed to stop me from getting to.
And...uh...does this apparent new member of Upper Echelon play a factor into this goal of yours, Scott?
*Heh heh* I knew you'd ask something about that. Just like the good lil' pudgy interviewer guy you are. He's a part of the goal, yes. An intricate part of it. Like I said last week, he's a man both me and Ryan have been in the ring with. A man who like so many others in this company, doesn't get the proper press he deserves. He gets passed on by all of the show boaters, glory hounds and corporate ass kissers. But come Ring Rage, he'll finally be a part of the fold. And when he is, the dynamic of things change for the better...well...for us anyway. *Heh heh heh*
It doesn't sound like you're the least bit concerned about a possible retaliation from XWA management. I mean, you guys have been taking shots at them all year.
And why not? What can they do to us? Fine us? Suspend us? HAAAAAA!!! Imagine that happening. The men who are actually making this company money. O'Malley might be a lot of things, but an idiot I hope is one of them. Let him run around and put the no names in matches, push them to be a lil' somethin' in XWA, and leave the real men to do what they do, carry this show...and carry this company. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a match to get ready for.
The confident O'Dell pushes pass Beakman and leaves the scene. Overload continues on to it's next match, but there were sure to be words of retaliation by Fierhart and the GM Stan O'Malley to what Scott had just said.
