Agree with CinX, but eh, nothing ya can do about it.
Speaking of PS3's I'll be getting a 1TB hard drive with 7200 ... something (I forget at the moment) for mine soon for only 74 bucks. Soon as in... in a few months. No job = slow income, but oh well. I know where to get the HD, that's all that matters. XD

You know who's knees are shaking right now? Microsoft's. ESPECIALLY since this price drop comes in the same year that the most EPIC (no pun intended) PS3 game of all time, God Of War III comes out. They're going to move some major units this holiday season. This effectively changes the current gen console landscape. And while it won't be an immediate difference, Sony is going to eventually catch Microsoft and Nintendo, and essentially surpass them. Like a lot of people have said all over the net, in the end...Sony will win the console war. They just fired the 1st critical blow into that potential victory with this. And does the new PS3 look sexy or what?

Always said 360 was in trouble from the start. PS3 just got a slow start.

Keep in mind, the existing PS3's are down in price as well. So for those who have put off getting a PS3 (Like me) for all these years, now's the time to jump on it.

This slim redesign is the death knell to backwards compatibillity though. Many had hoped it would be put back into the Slim version, not true. So unless you've got one of those older models, you're screwed. Although, saying that, I've got my PAL slim for PS2/PSONE games. My American slim for american games/gameshack hack disc and american DVD's... Now I need to see if there are any games on PS3 that I want over their Xbox counterparts (not the SVR series if they have less CAW parts, that's for sure!).

BW COmpatibility is only a software issue. They only need to set up an emulator that works with the system, and set it up so that you can create virtual memory cards (so no Codebreaker for you cheatin' newbz ). THat's all that it was to start, was the EmotionEngine (i believe it was called...) that also added in an HD Upscaler for the PS2 games. Check out Final Fantasy X on Youtube to see how it could look, they have vids on there. THere is a rumor that BW compatibility may be re-added in a future firmware update as IGN didn a story where they re-signed on that particular engine.

The new Batman game for the PS3 has the Joker bonus game that the 360 version doesn't. Tekken 6 will probably look and play better on the PS3 too, I can't imagine how one could use the Xbox controller for that one. To Epic's end, if they did make a firmware update that allow for BWC, they should make it available to both the new PS3 and the older 80GB ones that don't have it, even though in most cases I know people who have PS3s still have their PS2s as well. It still would be nice to show both versions of the console some love though. And it looks as if it would be cheaper for people with the older 80GB PS3 to just expand their HDD's than to get a new one anyway. I'd get the slim one though, only because I don't have either console, ha ha.

The controllers aren't that different. They're actually pretty much identical, the only difference is the placement of the left analog stick, which isn't a big issue and takes very little time to get used to. Everything else is pretty much the same. I thought it would take me ages to get used to it but once I popped Saints Row into the 360 and started playing, I noticed the button layout was the same as my PS3 Saints Row 2.
