It was a Supershow worthy of it's billing, action packed from the start. And it was only about to get even more interesting as the Commissioner of the Diamond Division Sarah Warfield makes her way out from backstage. As her music fills the arena, the fans rise and cheer. She makes her way to ringside, and climbs the ring steps where I mic awaited her.
Buzz: She just gets hotter and hotter every time I see her. I wish she'd at least answer my calls though.
Goldman: I don't quite think you're her type, partner. We've been expecting a huge announcement from her all night. And I'm guessing it's about time for her to make it.
Stan O'Malley, Overload's GM announced to the world a brand new match that will take place at the next PPV, Ring Rage. That match as we all know is called "The Crucibal". Without a doubt the most grueling, physically demanding match on the XWA slate, dare I say even more so then The Devil's Playground. In The Devil's Playground, it's merely a matter of survival. In The Crucibal, it's a matter racking up the most pinfalls between yourself and 3 other competitors, or in the men's case 5...in a 20 minute time limit. All while being locked in a cell surrounding the ring. It's a match that would even have me a little nervous going in. But lucky for me, I don't have to compete in it. But there are 4 Diamonds who will. 4 Diamonds who to this point have shown the grit, determination and aggression needed to be part of this showcase of will, skill and fortitude. The 1st of those four of course is the reigning Diamond Champion, Bianca Dianaco.
A chorus of boos ring out from the fans at the mere mention of her.
The next selection is a woman cut from the same mould as the champion. A woman who has silently built a reputation of ruthlessness here in XWA, Tiffany Masterson.
And the boos continue.
Next up, a woman who has helped carry the torch for XWA in recent months. A woman who is no stranger to showcasing her ability on the big stage, Sonya Robbins.
The boos change to cheers at the mention of Sonya.
And rounding out the fearsome foursome for the Diamond Crucibal, is one of the most fearsome Diamonds in all of XWA. A woman who brings a raw physicality to the ring unlike few in the sport, Anjelyka.
The the cheers continue.
Goldman: Wow. That's a rather diverse field of competitors. Four completely different styles. Four completely different women.
But wait, ladies and gent...it gets better. Because tonight, I've got something special planned. I've already had a word with both women, and they've agreed to meeting up one on one in this ring tonight. For the 1st time ever in their XWA careers, it's going to be the enigmatic Anjelyka...versus the original Black Diamond Bianca Dianaco!
The fans boom in cheer at the prospect of seeing two of the more physical Diamonds go toe to toe.
XWA will make history once again at Ring Rage, and the Diamond Division will be a major part in that history. Tonight's only the tip of the iceberg, people. So enjoy the rest of the show.
