Wishful thinking (Davis & Dynamite)

Saliva's "Ladies & Gentlemen" cues over the PA, signaling the 1st free TV appearance of Tommy Tryton of 2009. The fans give him a standing ovation as he steps out from backstage.

Goldman: Here comes a young man who's more physically gifted then any other on the Takedown roster. Tommy Tryton is indeed "The Total Package".

Buzz: Size, speed, athleticism, power, all the tools needed to become not just a champion, but a legend. It's only a matter of time.

Tryon gives high 5s along the way down to the ring, and slides in. He pauses for a second to take in the adoration of the fans before calling for a mic.

Damn it feels good to be home. As many of you know, I got my start in this business wrestling in the Mid-West. Illinois, Michigan and my home state of Minnesota. Some of the greatest american wrestlers ever have come from the Mid-West, and me? I'm just carrying on the time honored tradition. Which leads me to why I'm out here tonight. In my 1st match back in XWA, I failed to capture the Pure Title from Romeo Davis, who we all know lost that title to Chris Dynamite last week. Now as per XWA rules, Davis has a rematch clause he can exact, which I can most likely guess he'll be cashing in on at Soul Survivor. Well tonight boys, I've got a different idea. You see, I'm not in the least bit done. In fact, I've made it my mission to be the next Pure Champion. Because I'm the best "Pure" athlete on Takedown...so it only makes sense. No, no, no, don't worry your pretty lil' heads about me trumping the rematch. It's not goin' down like that. What's going down is that I'm callin' both of you out tonight, to meet me in this ring, and square off in a lil' Pure Rules Triple Threat Match. Think of it as a tune up for your rematch, and a nice way for me to get a better look at both of you up close and personally. Because after Soul Survivor is done and the dust settles...

I've got next.

So what do ya' say boys? I totally understand if you don't wanna make it happen. I'd be nervous if I had to get in the ring with me, too. But there's an arena 14,000 strong who want to see it happen. I'm game. Are you?

Tryton lowers his mic and awaits the response of either man.

[Chris Dynamite]

Moments later ‘Ace of Spades’ rings out around the arena. On stage, flashly dressed, as ever, Chris Dyanmite strolls out. He stands on the stage for a moment, smirking at the jeers of the crowd, then raises the Pure Title high above his head.
He then strolls down to the ring,

Goldman: OH boy, here comes the new Pure Champion. This guy was full of himself before, now he seems to have a foot to stand on.
BuZz: I have to say I'm beginning to dig this guy. He laid out his plan, and he has acted on it.

Dynamite poses on the turnbuckle with the belt, then grabs a mic from ringside and pauses in the middle of the ring, completely ignoring Tommy Tryton.

Well…I hate to say ‘I told you so’ but… I TOLD YOU SO! [throws his head back and laughs] Romeo Davis you gave me the shot, and as I always said I would when the chips were down, I delivered! It’s just like the man once said ‘In this life there are hustlers and workers’ and Romeo, you are a worker!

He pauses as the crowd jeer at him and chant Romeo Davis and Tommy Tryton’s names

No, no I’m afraid Mr Davis is not here tonight. SO you’re all going to have to do without your RD fix. The stage is aaalllll mine tonight. I have a three step plan in this business; make a name for myself – check! Prove my point – check! And now…I’m heading all the way to the top!

He turns to Tommy Tryton, and contemplates him for a moment, before raising his mic again,

So, you’re the one who wants to dive into my spotlight tonight huh? You see I managed something that you, and many others, failed to do; I pinned Romeo Davis in a Pure Rules environment. So what the hell makes you think you’re worth a shot at me? I’m a step to the future of this industry, who the hell are you? You see my pro…

Dynamite turns to the stage as he is interrupted by the music of an unexpected superstar…

[blade]

As Dynamite was about to finish what he was going to say Flood by Tool begins to play over the PA System. Blade made his way onto the stage with a mic already in his hand.

Blade raises it to his lips and begins to speak.

You know this really makes me laugh quiet hysterically, and you want to know why? Well you see I have been waiting quiet a long time to regain that Pure Title which was once mine. But every time I tried going for it someone else steps in and it's really starting to piss me off. And now I see Tommy Tryton is trying to get his hands on it, Well that ain't going to happen this time because I'm jumping in on this weather you like it or not.

Oh and if your thinking that I don't deserve to be out here well you better take a look at yourself their Tommy, you haven't been seen for quiet a few months.

Blade lowers his mic and waits for a response.

[Chris Dynamite]

Dynamite looks at Blade, then at Tommy, and then turns back to Blade

well looky looky, aren’t I suddenly in demand. Isn’t it amazing what a single win, and a gold strap, can do for a guy’s profile. Two weeks ago you two wouldn’t have bothered coming out here, now you can’t get in my spotlight quickly enough.

Dynamite strolls round the ring, considering his two prospective opponents before stopping in front of Blade,

So you’re sick of being pushed aside are you? You’re forcing yourself in here huh? Ooooo, I’m shaking in my boots, where’s your fan club? Did you leave the rest of the muppets backstage? It’s interesting isn’t it that you never forced yourself into the title picture when Romeo held this title, but now you think I’m easy pickings you can’t get out here fast enough! [he turns to Tommy] I guess you can claim that you did challenge Romeo…and lost! But you’re willing to wait your turn are you? Awww, that’s very polite of you, or is it that you’re worried? Hmmm? Not man enough to challenge me now?

He steps back and considers both of them

In fact, neither of you should face me now! You see this title, it says I’m a cut above the rest, and why should I believe either of you is worthy to share a ring with me? I know you’re both dying to be in highest rated segment of the show, with the fastest rising star in this industry. The question is, why should I let you?

Goldman: Can you seriously believe the stuff this guy comes out with? He’s won one match!
BuZz: Yeah, it was a big match though…
Goldman: But as the saying goes, you’re not a champion until you defend the title. He could still be flash in a pan!

Dynamite smirks, and leans against the ropes contemplating his two opponents.

[MG]

MG comes running to the ring wearing a tank top and basketball shorts and white Nike 6.0.

Buzz: Oh no.

MG slides into the ring. With his mic.

Yo yo yo. How come Blade get his useless ass in the mix? If anybody should get the a shot at the title it should be the winner of Tommy Tryton vs Somebody of Chris choice. If you pick Blade you must be smoking. If you pick me then you the man.

Matt: I notice that MG is full of crap

I mean what has Blade done since Season 3 started. Nothing. I beat Evan Fate and A.Cee Infamous. Wait a..... I'm sucking up to you!!?? Man give me a title shot or else you ain't gon make it to your next show!

[tryton]

After listening to what was said, Tommy raises his mic and responds. 1st, he takes aim at MG.

I can clear it up for you pretty easy there, "homie". You've already had two, count 'em, TWO shots to become a champ this season. Once against Davis, and once against Robby Sylk. And ya' lost on both accounts. Now...I don't know how your brain works, but when you lose two shots at two titles, it's a pretty telling sign that before you go and make yourself look like a fool again, you should maybe hit the gym a bit. Work up a few matches and get some wins even before you throw your name into the hat. Makes ya' look less like a title chasin' glory hog. Oh, and FYI, you beat pinned Romeo Davis in that Tornado Tag match a few weeks ago, not Evan Fate. Way to fail at self-promotion there, buddy.

He sarcastically winks at MG, then turns his focus to Myers.

As for you, Blade. I can totally hear what you're saying. I heard what you said earlier tonight as well. I can completely vouch for you feeling slighted. Feeling like you're getting looked over despite being as talented as they come. Trust me, I know the feeling. But you see, Blade...there's a right way and a wrong way to change it. The right way...is the way I did it in 2008. I seized the moment at Wargames. It's not about what you're owed my friend, it's about what you earn. You have to earn everything in this business. Only the lucky few get it handed to them, and we're not the lucky few. You want recognition? You want your "spot"? Don't talk about it...GET it.

Lastly he focuses on Dynamite.

And last but not least, we have the "Champ". Or should I say, the chump. It's funny how the 1st thing to come put of your pie hole was "I beat Davis and you didn't, nah nah n-nah nah." Seriously? What are you, an 8th grader? Is that really the best you've got? No...don't bother answering. I already know it is. You see, me the men standing in this ring, the guys backstage, everyone in the arena and everyone watching at home knows that you my friend are as flash in the pan as they come. You talk a good one, but do you really think winning that title vindicates you? I don't think so. Not as badly as you've lost here in XWA. Let me run it down for those not keeping score. Our new Pure champion started his XWA career getting man handled by arguable the greatest Pure champ of all time Kayn. Then to follow that up, he got his ass kicked a week later by one of Overload's top dogs Lionel Xander. Then after that, he got beat by Kelon J.A.H. of all dude. Then there came you losing at the GrandSlam Tournament, THEN you losing alongside of Brandon Payne and Dante Elsworth at Vendetta.

Goldman: He's more then got a point there, partner.

Buzz: No kidding. Ya' tend to think that the new champ's most likely forgotten those facts. It's a good thing the rest of the planet hasn't.

Tommy continues.

So in a nutshell, you're about as flukey a champion as they come. And the fact that you're out here parading your one win out of 6 matches this year as if you beat Harley Race, Antonio Inoki and Lou Thesz in the same night makes you look even more like a tool then we all know you are. There's a lot of men who have designs on that title, as you can plainly see. Some of us actually have what it takes to carry it and give it the respect it commands. To carry it like the men who have carried it in the past, through all of it's incarnations. You? You ain't one of 'em. And if any of us, namely if I have anything to say about it, your relationship to it, is gonna be pretty short lived. Everyone in the world knows you suck, Dynamite. You've proven it week after week. You just managed to catch Romeo on an off week, in the right match. You may have beat him, but you didn't earn that belt. You haven't proven that you're title material in this ring. But under the circumstances, it looks like come Soul Survivor you're gonna get that chance. And if history says anything about you in this ring when the spotlight's on and the world is watching, you'll choke...again...just like you always do. I wonder what kinda lame duck excuse you'll come up with when, not if, when that day comes?

[Chris Dynamite]

Dynamite pauses for a second after Tommy’s outburst, then raising an eyebrow he climbs the turnbuckle and surveys the ring.

Well isn’t this cosy? Look at all of us here in this ring together, it warms my heart to be this popular! [he smirks] However we are all a bit crowded here, and maybe it’s time we worked out what we’re going to do about all this.
[he turns to MG]
So lets start with you shall we 50 cent? Now I genuinely never thought I’d agree with the Minneapolis Meathead over there, but what in the blue hell are you doing out here? Tommy’s right, you had two title matches, and you lost…two title matches! That’s a one hundred percent record of failure there [he applauds] Now I know there are those who don’t think I proved anything before I won this title [glances at Tommy] But even they have to admit I pulled it out of the bag when the chips were down. Now Romeo may have been charitable when he gave me a shot, but I’m not in the giving mood. So hit the bricks buddy. Go on Shoo!

Dynamite turns to Blade and Tommy

So that just leaves you two does it? And what do we do about that, hmmm? Well, it seems to me that MG isn’t the only one in this ring with a 100% failure record in title matches this year, so maybe ‘the terrific one’ still has a point to prove? You see you seem very confident in your ability to beat me, but I’ve not seen anything from you that scares me!You want your shot, you’ll get it, but remember I always rise to the occasion! [He smirks at Tommy for a moment, before turning to Blade] Or maybe we should give Blade a chance to prove why he’s so feared! In fact screw it you know what, Blade you want to come out here, run your mouth and say you’ve been overlooked and ignored? I say let’s see you prove it! You want a shot at me? You got it, you and me one on one at the PPV for the Pure Title!

Goldman: Is he crazy? What does he think he’s doing?

But as far as tonight goes, well Mr T. here seems to be spoiling for a fight, and I’d love the opportunity to shut both of you up, so how about we have ourselves the triple threat which Tommy proposed? You two and me, three way dance. Think you guys can handle that?

Dynamite smirks as he lowers his mic, and sits on the turnbuckle,

Goldman: Has the title gone to his head? He’s just making matches against multiple opponents. This guy only has one win to his name!
BuZz: Yep, and now it’s gonna be sink or swim time!

[blade]

Blade has a slight smirk on his face from what Dynamite said.

You know Dynamite you are really going to regret stepping in that very ring with me because you'll be in for a huge slaughter fest with me.

BuZZ: He's always got something smart to say doesn't he.

Goldman: I got to agree with you there BuZZ.

Oh and as for you Tommy I hope you are fully ready cause you'll need it, and don't worry I'll try and keep you from bleeding but I can't help myself if it does happen.

BuZZ: Blade sure does love making people bleed all the time.

Goldman: Well all of his past opponents have bleed and he loves it.

Anyway I hope both of you are ready because you's will need it especially against me.

Blade drops the mic on the ramp and heads to the back to get ready for the triple threat match.
