A New Challenge (Fury)

As Glitter continued from the Carver Center, the sound of Korn's "Make Me Bad" soon indicated the arrival of Tiffany Masterson to the scene. When last the world saw her was in a six woman Tag Team match featuring COA and The Sensationals en masse in which she won by pinning Diamond Xtraordinaire Jamie Fury. It was a fact and a moment that Tiffany was more than proud of as she strutted down the aisle to the ring, a cocky grin on her lips.

Rose: I wonder what the hell Tiffany's smiling about?

Lucy: Well, if you recall, she scored a big win in her last match. A pinfall victory against Jamie Fury is nothing to take lightly.

Rose: I hate to sound impartial here though Lucy, but it was in a 6-Woman Tag match. It'd be totally different if she had done it all on her own...

With those remarks being discussed by the announce team, Tiffany now stood in the ring with a mic in hand.

Only a few short weeks ago in the middle of this ring, I....Tiffany Masterson...pinned the "Diamond Dominator" Jamie Fury 1-2-3.

That painful truth did not go over too well with the fans in the arena as they booed heavily.

In doing so, I recall some comments that Channelle and Jenna had previous made about Ms. Fury...about how it's quite possible that she's lost a step since her illustrious rookie season. About how she may very well be the "weakest link" of the Sensationals. If you look closely ladies and gentlemen, in all of their team encounters thus far, it's been Jamie who has been the one to suffer the taste of defeat directly.

Rose: Unfortunately, she is correct.

So, that brings forth the burning question...has she lost it? That is what I intend to find out. I know there are those who would criticize my victory as I was not the only person involved in that contest, so tonight on Glitter, I wish to silence those critics and do something that has not been done since the beginning months of the 2008 season...defeat Jamie Fury one-on-one.

Lucy: That sounds like a challenge to me!

I spent the better part of that same year feuding with one woman, and in doing so proved my legitimacy in this ring. Now, a new challenge is what I seek, and you Jamie Fury will fit in nicely. I know that you're backstage. Why don't you join me down here, love?

That invitation brought a jolt out of the crowd as they and Tiffany now awaited Fury's arrival.

Her theme begins to play and the fans are on their feet to welcome her back after the lengthy absence between shows. She was wearing a silver off the shoulder blouse with blue jeans and boots, looking rather stylish and high fiving the fans as she walked down the aisle.

Rose: Here's Jamie Fury...and I'm sure she's no doubt here to accept this challenge from Tiffany. She's never backed down from one before.

She's handed a mic after she steps into the ring, and her eyes fixate on Tiffany under the chant of "Jay-Mee-Fu-Ry" with the five claps after it. Jamie smiles as she raises the mic to her lips...

Something's never change do they? I guess you guys here in Peoria know a good thing when you see it, huh?

Her response from the crowd is the obligatory cheap pop...

Well, some things do change as well. Tiffany, I'm going to be as forthcoming with you as possible with what I say. What it is that you said, what it is that COA has said...it's something I've thought about for a while now. Two times so far, I let my team down...this is true.

Since that night, I've hit the gym, I've hit the training mat, I've done all that I can to make sure that I really and truly didn't lose my edge. It was all well and good until I realized one thing...losing doesn't make you bad in this business, doubting yourself does. All the preparation in the world won't help you if your opponent has more focus, timing or just plain luck in their corner.

Lucy: Good to see she's still got her wits about her.

Not that I'm saying that you were lucky or anything, but Tiffany, there's one other thing you've said that's very, very true. Not since Sonya Robbins beat me for the Pearl Title last year have I gone down in one-on-one competition. Your new friend Jenna tried to do it early this year, and found out exactly why they call me the Diamond Dominator. Tonight, you'll get your chance.

The match officially being accepted, the fans show their appreciation through their applause.

I've seen you work in the ring. I've watched tapes of your matches with Mari last year as she tried to scout you, and this year as well, so I know your as technically sound as any Diamond in the league. You've got all the right in the world to have all the confidence in the world that you can beat me tonight. But know this one thing Tiff, to actually do it, it's going to take a whole hell of a lot more than confidence.

I'd be a fool to think that would be all that I need. You'll see very soon exactly what it is that I do have.

Quietly, Tiffany laughs to herself.

Jamie, you have no idea how elated I am. From the very beginning, I've said that my intention was to show you Diamonds what true domination is. What better way to prove that point than to do it against arguably the most dominant female in the XWA over the last season?

Tonight, you won't be the Diamond Dominator...simply...a dominated Diamond. I am thoroughly going to enjoy this evening.

Jamie could see the confidence, or cockiness, radiating from Tiffany. It was in every word she said. There were only a few more of those that Fury had to say.

Don't worry Tiffany, I'm going to make it my duty to see that you don't.

That said, she lowered her mic, and her theme began to play once more as she exited the ring. Backpedaling up the aisle and ramp with her eyes on her opponent, the announce team says this...

Rose: Tiffany Masterson may have very well woke up a sleeping giant tonight Lucy.

Lucy: I agree, but you know something? I think that's precisely what Masterson wanted. If we've learned anything about her, it's that she thrives on competition. SHe's going to get plenty of tonight!
