"Wild Thing" James Bowen went into the ring. The fans were amazed he came close to winning the No Limits title.
James: After that small taste of the gold, I wanted more. However, to get more, I have to earn it. I am re-focused and more determined to fight my way up to another title shot. I'm ready to take on the competition. And the last couple of fights proved it. Is there any No Limits competitor that has the same fire, come on down.

The chorus to Ryan's theme song hits, and he walks out, sporting a now out of date Vendetta promotional t-shirt, and his slim faded jeans. Already holding a microphone, he power walks down the ramp, trying to get to the ring as soon as possible. At ring side, he stops, and shakes his head.
James, old friend, you call out, and you receive. You ask for a challenge from another X-Gen superstar, and you get one. Problem is, we do not have the same long term goal. You're looking for X-Gen fame by scooping up the title off of Bryan Yang. I'm not looking, I'm INTENDING on making my mark on XWA's X-Gen. I'm not looking for a short term adrenaline boost, because I'm still young, I'm still in my prime. You, you're past it. I hate to say it, but it's true. There's no possible way a wrestler from the 70's can still be in their best condition.
Don't get me wrong, I won't take anything away from you and your past. You've shown in the past that you were a good shoe-in for a champ. My wrinkly friend, those times have ended. You're looking at the future of the wrestling business. Not just me, but the current, young X-Gen wrestlers. The ones who can still do maneuvers without tearing muscle the way Hulk Hogan tears t-shirts.
I'll tell you what you have on me, James. You have experience. But don't think that means it's a huge advantage. I have the mentality that it takes, I have the physical ability it takes, and I have the verbal skills it takes. Those three factors show that your experience means nothing. I've got the experience it needs to beat you. I've got the experience it takes to beat anyone, period.
If you're looking for a series, James, then I suggest you don't pull the big guns out right away with a epic match choice. However, if you realize that you're going to taste defeat and only want one match, then pick your poison.
The cocky Ryan Blaze lowers his microphone and nods to James, signaling him to go.

James: Ryan Blaze, you're a young man with a bright future ahead of you, but your cockiness won't get you anywhere with a guy like me. I've seen this scenario at least a thousand times. Yeah, I have experience, at the same time, I have the heart and passion. It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up. I am a hard man to keep down, Ryan. I think a series would be great for the both of us. Maybe a best-of-seven series?

Beautiful. Best of seven it is. You call first match, my friend. I'll call the next type, and it will be back and fourth, so neither is truly at a disadvantage.

James: First match is a straight-up one-on-one match. What's your choice for #2?
Just as they were planning a best-of-seven series, a masked man attacked James, busting him wide open in the process. The masked man stared down at Ryan Blaze before leaving, giving chase to security. When James got back up, he was fuming.
James: Ryan, I must give you a raincheck on our series for now. Because I want the asshole who spilled my blood, and I want him bad.
