As a large number of the XWA roster performed at Mayday out in Iraq, Chris Dynamite had stayed in New York. Recuperating after Vendetta and the preceding months, and trying to get his head back in the game.
After a long morning run and workout Dynamite strolls back to his flat, riding the elevator to the 14th floor, he slowly let himself in. Tossing his bag to one side, he stops, hearing a noise in his kitchen he approaches, and pauses for a second looking at the (probably unreasonably) unexpected guest in his kitchen,
What are you doing here Em?[/i]
Emma Croft looks up from her cup of coffee and flashes him a grin,
Ah so there you are! I was beginning to wonder what had happened to you…And what this crap you’ve got labelled as coffee?[/i]
[sighs]Oh well make yourself at home! I don’t drink coffee, so I got it for the inevitable visits you’d be paying me…
Ah well in that case sweetie you should have bought better stuff. You know I’m not a fan of second rate.
Dynamite dropped into a chair,
So what does bring you round today? Is the manicurist shut?
Oh please, I don’t need a manicure. Not for a few days anyway! I came round to talk to you about how you’re going to get yourself back on track when TakeDown resumes. I think you need to be getting out there and putting yourself about a bit. I know you’ve stepped up to some big challengers so far, but you’ve not exactly been groundbreaking. And a win wouldn’t damage your cause either[she raises an eyebrow and grins]
Ah so the Emma Croft Plan is about to come into effect is it? Ok I’m listening, what exactly is it you had in mind?
Well, you’ve been all bluster so far, but you’ve not actually been saying anything have you? We need to get you giving interviews that turn people’s heads. Believe me, I know you can perform well enough to make a terrible speech memorable, but we need to get people remembering what you said. At the moment you’re the guy who gave a hot promo, but no one can remember exactly what you said, and then your ass was handed to you…
Ah, and I suppose you have a plan to fix that as well do you?!
Well…since I’ve arrived your training seems to be better, so you’re getting there. We’ll give it a month, if you haven’t improved by then we might have to get you back home for a bit of training with Charlie.
Dynamite pauses at the mention of one of his former trainers,
We’ll see. You may have a point about the promos though, I could do to get a bit more substance behind them. Everything I’m doing has become a bit…
Generic?! Oh don’t worry sweetie I’ve got a plan to fix all that. [Emma puts down her coffee cup, and looks at it with disgust for a moment] In fact, I can’t drink this swill anymore, lets get out of here. There’s a lovely little place a couple of streets away where we can get something decent, and talk in more detail.
Dynamite laughs and gets up,
I guess I don’t have a choice do I? Just let me get changed into something clean, and I’ll be with you. [He raises an eyebrow and grins] Uh, make yourself at home won’t you?!
Oh I always do. And Mac [Dynamite pauses and half turns on hearing his childhood nickname] Don’t be too long. I haven’t got all day[laughs].
