AKA Overload's head honcho. As of this writing, Stan O'Malley is officially taking over all "On Air" administrative duties for Overload, just as Sara Warfield for Glitter and Mike Roach for Takedown. But that's where the similarities end. Stan I plan on making a central figure on Overload and not just the voice of authority. By Central Figure, I mean he will take an active role in Overload's main storyline, as well as be active in any other angles at anyone's request. As posted in his introduction thread, Stan is "hands on." Overall, I'm patterning the character off of UFC president Dana White, meaning that Stan's "Animated" and completely accessible by all characters. If you want to see Stan in your thread, all you have to do is call him out to the ring, or make a post where your character seeks him out backstage, and he'll come to you.
So that everyone's not flying blind about Stan's backstory, let me give you a brief history. Stan came into the business in the mid 90's, alongside of other "rookies" at the time Dru Nedermeyer, Yoshi Togo, David Faith, Elai Kolenovic, Kareem "Mr. Showtime" Brown and so on. (Basically, he's part of the original class of CAWS Thr33x and I came up back in the N64 days.) Stan was originally in a tag team called "Super Tough" under the alias of Brad Manley. Alongside of his the partner Chet Ryan. The gimmick of the team was basically a rip off of Bill & Ted, a pair of So-Cal meatheads. Eventually the duo split up, and Stan would take on another gimmick, this one a little more darker. After a couple months in "hiatus", he'd re-emerge as Psyclown, a demented, perverted clown gimmick. He'd remain under the Psyclown gimmick for a year until it was phased out, this time replaced by the gimmick known as "Slim" Jim O'Malley. Jim O'Malley's gimmick was of a bi-polar man who when provoked would completely lose it, attacking anyone in front of him. t went over well with fans due to it's unpredictable nature, and the rather extreme things he'd due as result. After a while, Stan personally phased the character out, and started wrestling under his real name, Stan O'Malley, taking up the nickname "Stan The Man". Stan would also at this time find himself paired up with Kareem Brown as an Odd Couple type tag team, dubbing themselves "The Magic Touch".
Together with Brown, Stan enjoyed the most success of his career, capturing multiple Tag Team title reigns. It was also during this time that his most familiar gimmick was born. During moments in matches where Stan would find himself overwhelmed by opponents, be it in tag or singles matches, the fans in the arena would begin chanting "Snap Stan, Snap" an homage to his days as Slim Jim, and a play on the "Slim Jim" Beef Jerky commercials at the time. As result, Stan would slap himself in the face twice, scream like a mad man, and proceed in pummeling everyone in the ring up until Kareem was the only one in the ring with him, where he'd stop and "Snap" back to normal. After the team split in 2003, Stan ventured into a new arena, Hardcore wrestling. He'd already been known for taking risks and doing extreme things in matches, so it was a natural transition for him. The most memorable match of his Hardcore period in wrestling was a 45 Minute war with Vincent Fate, then under his Riot moniker. Regarded as one of the most brutal matches on American soil, Riot dominated a bulk of the match, bludgeoning Stan with everything he could get his hands on, including the 1st time Riot actually used a "Kitchen Sink" in a match. But O'Malley wouldn't stay down despite the fact that Riot literally beat him from one end of the arena, to the next, and back. It was one of the rare moments that Riot actually showed mercy in a match, as instead of crushing Stan's head in with one of his signature chairs while barely on one knee, Riot simply threw the chair down and walked away. Stan gained world wide fame from that match, and the respect of his peers, even Fate. (Away from wrestling the two men are now good friends, that's what happens with age.) Stan continued to compete until 2007, even teaming back up with Brown for one last go before retiring from wrestling. Since leaving the ring, Stan began promoting independent wrestling shows across the north east, and in 2008 became a talent liaison for XWA at the request of Dru Nedermeyer, who had gone back to full time wrestling in Los Angeles/Japan Based Pro Wrestling NEO.
So now you have a brief, abbreviated history of Mr. O'Malley. Approach him at your own leisure.
