Held at the XWA's Corporate HQ in New York, wrestling insiders, journalists and fans had gathered once again to hear the proposed official announcements regarding the promotion's upcoming MAYDAY event.
The podium had been set up in the conference room where many an announcement was made, and today would be no exception. Collectively it was XWA's two current (or at least known) GM's who were in attendance to make the official words, Mike Roach representing TakeDown and Sarah Warfield representing Glitter.
As per usual, the conference itself was streaming live over the internet via The1XWA.net, and as the video team made their final preparations, Mike was behind the set looking a little nervous...this being only his second duty as TakeDown's official GM.
Sarah, you have no idea how racked I am right now...doesn't Carmella normally make these big announcements?

Sarah smiled and rested her hand on the rookie's shoulder.
Since we're the ones who're actually going to be supervising this little shindig, it only makes sense that we be the once to let everyone else know all of the details. Don't be so nervous Mike! Carmella's got a lot of faith in you...you'll be just fine.
As she cracks another smile to the site of Mike's alomst boyish nervousness, a crew member signals to the duo that they're ready to go on the air.
Okay then, looks like we're up! You go first, hee hee.

Why thank you Sarah...you're so kind. He shakes off the cobwebs, and then together they step out from behind the set to a decent amount of applause from everyone. Waving hello to greet them, Mike stands at the podium with Sarah right by his side. Thanks everyone, thank you! Welcome everyone. Okay, today we're here to make the official announcement regarding the XWA's upcoming MAYDAY event. We call it an event because unlike the first two editions, this year's MAYDAY will air live and for free, not on Pay Per View. The cheapskate fans in the crowd were more than happy about that call. ;D The reason being is that this year, we at the XWA are going to use this event as an opportunity to give something back to who I consider to be true warriors and gladiators in their own right...the men and women of our armed forces! There was a good sized applause from all about that call as well. This year, we will be traveling to Camp Independence in Baghdad, Iraq to entertain our troops, and in our own special way pay them tribute, and tell them all that we thank them and appreciate them for all of their sacrifice and tireless effort defending the very ideals that make our country the great nation that it is.
Now, there's one thing that will not be changing from Mayday's past, and that's the double main event of the evening...the Boot Camp Match and WARGAMES. Both will still have at stake the very first position in the main event of XGAMES3, The Diamond's Conflict and The Last Dance. However, the way we get to bestowing that honor to one lucky Diamond and Combatant is going to be a little bit different.
I'll let Sarah explain those details to you all. Sarah?

Ms. Warfield steps up to the podium, and grins a little as she gets a few howls and "owws" from some of those wild & crazy Diamond loving fans.
I love you too. Now, this year both WarGames and the BCM will be contested not in just a Steel Cage...but a Steel Cell. This will mark the first time that we'll actually be using a ring encasing Cell in a major XWA event, so that's going to be a very big deal. What's even more impressive is that we've received confirmation that after we ship the thing to Iraq, our crew will actually be being assisted by the troops themselves in setting it up for the main events.
*Applause*
That just show testament to the kind of hard work that they put in day in and day out for all of us. Now, you're probably wondering who is going to be inside of the thing when it's all prepped up, right? Well...then allow me to tell you which Diamonds will be going to Boot Camp:
COA's Jenna "Baby" Slade, the apparent "sister act" of Helena Troy and former Diamond Champion Ashley Diamond and Marisol Cardinale of The Sensationals...who will be in her second straight Boot Camp match.
In addition to that, as an added treat for the boys and girls over there, we will have a title match for the Pearl Championship...a rematch of sorts as Channelle will go one on one yet again versus Amber Gianni!
That will be the Diamond contingent of the show...now for the guys, heeeeeeere's Mike!
Suddenly, one of the reporters stands up to ask a question.
Sarah...I don't know if you're aware, but recently at an XCW taping there was a proposal for if you will an unsanctioned match with implications on the Sapphire Titles. Do you care to elaborate?
Oh...I forgot about that. Well, I'm aware of the decision regarding Kim Hunter and XCW. As it was under review after we heard word of this, there's nothing that we can do as far as disciplinary action goes, because from the very beginning each contracted talent in the XWA has the clause of being able to engage in other endeavors while under a contract. Like for instance, Jon Payne and his MMA career. The same applies to Kim and her apparent signing to XCW.
However, she is still under a legally binding contract, and if there is a match with implication to an XWA title, no matter who's in it...then it very much IS sanctioned, and whoever the principles are of that match will be, I expect them to be aboard a charter jet to Baghdad to take care of business all the same.
Now, if that's all...the floor is all yours Mike.

How do you follow that up? He thought to himself..."she must practice in a mirror or something, or take speech lessons from Obama." Well, allow me to add to that one point with both the BCM and WarGames...both matches this year will be ONE FALL. That means the first in either to get a pinfall or submission this year will be the winner, no eliminations.
Now, you noticed that the grid of Diamonds is smaller this year I'm sure. The same goes for the guys. There'll be six men stepping into the cell, three from Overload- Osh Vaughn, Kaster Troy and former World Champ Ethan Bain, and three from TakeDown- A.Cee Infamous, Jeremy Pendelton & Dan Ripley.
Then, I'm also proud to announce that on that day, we'll also have ourselves the first official GrandSlam Title Match here in the XWA. By popular demand, Robby Sylk will defend the title against MG, who will be competing despite the recent legal troubles I'm sure you've all heard about with him.
Lastly then, and of course not least is the match to determine the undisputed #1 contender for the World Title between Scott O'Dell and Van Hayden. The winner will be the next in line to face Syrus The Entertainer for the belt, and if it's anything like the previous matches these two have had, we're in for a classic!
And uh...I think that pretty much sums up the entire card for this event! Thanks everyone for stopping by and I guess we'll see you all at Camp Independence! And with that there was one final grand applause by everyone at the big news that was on deck. Mike and Sarah leave the stage and Roach gives off a sigh of relief. Phew! That wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be...

Sarah smiles again as they head back up to their offices high atop One Penn Plaza.
Stick with me rookie, I'll make you a star! Just ask Amber, I'm good at this stuff!
