Tick, tock, tick, tock.....
Dante raised his head, face to face with the only thing he really had anymore. Time. It has been four months now since the season had begun. The landscape of XWA has been changing dramatically day by day up to this point, but for Dante? No. It has been all the same and yet to change. There was still only one thing in the eyes of this shell of a man, the XWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Joe Beakman: Hello XWA fans all over the globe, Vendetta has proved to be as surprising as it has ever been. I am here with the self proclaimed 'Titan' of XWA, Dante "Atlas" Elsworth. Mr. Elsworth, what do you think about your upcoming six-man tag match which will determine the new #1 contender for Syrus's World Heavyweight Championship?
What do I think about my upcoming match? Personally? I think it is the most ridiculous thing the general manager has ever thought of putting on live television. Is this some joke? Some sort of punishment? I am not laughing. On one side, the most dominant powers of the Overload lockerroom and possibly all of XWA? An actual TEAM? While on the Takedown side we have some no-body and two men with enough hatred between each other to make the devil proud. Although Chris's uselessness I can disregard, but the idea that I am expected to team up with this joke of a man Brandon Payne?
Joe Beakman: I'm sure a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship certainly seems like more than an incentive to work with Payne. Don't you think?
I've been 'using' Brandon Payne to get closer to the strap since this season began. Do you honestly think that I gave half a damn about Brandon's status here in XWA? Or what he has accomplished in the past? No. I called Brandon out for one reason. And that was because he happened to be this last years XWA combatant xtroidinaire. That in the general manager's eyes Brandon was his most talented superstar on the roster that year. I knew at the time that just being in a match with him would snag me a spot in the contender's list. I hope you understand that Brandon, I USED you, just like I am going to use you tonight to shorten the gap between me and my belt.
Joe Beakman: Not meant to be offensive, but didn't he beat you? Three times in a row I believe.
I would imagine someone like you to dwell on that, someone with less than half a brain. Brandon's vendetta with me was simply to make sure that I would not ever have a chance at that world title. To get me out of his way for good. Guess what Brandon? I'm still here and still the biggest obstacle in your way, and I don't think I'm moving anytime soon.
Joe Beakman: You seem to have a good idea about your own team mates tonight, but what about O'dell, Hayden, and Blaze.
The only name that you said that even begins to show up on my radar is the man Scott O'dell. The other two? Nothing. Blaze has shown me nothing thus far except he is another twig for me to step on. Hayden? The kid has skill that is for certain. The man to end Bryan Jasta's legendary title run. But skill can only take you so far without the power to back it up. O'dell however, former World Champion. If there is anyone in this match that I need to keep my eye on is him. From what I have seen over the past two years is O'dell knows an opportunity when he sees it. While that wouldn't be any problem in a one on one squash match, I need to make sure that the dead weight on my glorious team doesn't fall prey to him.
Joe Beakman: You seem to have it all planned out for tonight, all your bases covered some would say?
Oh, don't you worry. My motives and plans have thus far been successful, don't think its going to fall apart just yet. I can promise everyone watching now, tonight be prepared for the age of the titan to began anew.
