Following a match, Vendetta goes backstage where Overload backstage correspondent Joe Beakman stands with the one and only Scott O'Dell. Scott was dressed for competition, standing with his signature smirk. Beakman starts the interview.
In tonight's main event, Dante Elsworth, Brandon Payne and Chris Dynamite of Takedown will join forces to take on Ryan Blaze, Van Hayden and my guest at this time..."The Franchise" Scott O'Dell. Scott, you've had a history of big matches here in the Tokyo Dome. 2 Years ago you faced Kayn in your 2nd World Title defense. Last year you faced Ethan Bain in his 1st World Title defense. This year, you represent Overload in the Braggin' Right Elimination Tag match. A match that again has World Title implications...
Scott cuts Joe off...
Not so fast my portly friend. The only people I represent in this match is my people...Upper Echelon. Not Overload. Not XWA. Let's make that crystal clear. This isn't about brand loyalty or "Braggin' Rights". This is about getting one step closer to getting back what everyone on the planet knows is rightfully mines, The XWA World Title. I've let guys like STE, Ethan Bain and Keith Wyle keep it warm for me long enough. But it's time the World Title comes home. Tonight will be just step one in a 3 step process of making that happen. In my way tonight are 3 absolute jokes of wrestlers. I mean Joe, c'mon. Take a look at who the opposition is? 1st off we have Dante Elsworth, about the biggest disappointment in all of wrestling. How's a guy have all those muscles and still can't by a win? And this is going back to 2008. I can count how many matches this guy's won on one hand. Then we have this nobody Chris Dynamite. I don't know what kind of corporate ass he's kissed to land himself in this match, but he's in it despite the fact that like his buddy Elsworth, he's yet to even crack a notch in the W column. About the only thing this piss-ant is good for is going down to the ring, making himself look like a total jackass, and then having the next guys foot wedged in his "Jack" ass. And then speaking of Jackasses, rounding out the trio is my old friend Brandon Payne. You know, the guy I made in 2008. Brandon Payne owes me so much for resurrecting his then in the toilet career that my name should be on his paychecks. Him getting his ass kicked my me three times in a row was the greatest thing that's happened to him. But I can bet you cash money that I'm the last person he ever wanted to see in the ring again.
Soooooooo...I guess this means you're not concerned about facing them tonight, are you?
How very observant of you, Joe. That's why they pay you the big bucks, right? Gallas said it best when he announced the match. You've got those three assclowns taking on three former champions. Three guys who have already been at the top. But to those other two guys, Ryan Blaze and Van Hayden I say this. And I want to be 100% crystal clear. Don't mess up, and definitely don't get in my way. If you play your roles the way you're supposed to play them, we win this match. Then at Mayday...well...at least you boys will actually get to the No.1 Contender's match. Winning it on the other hand is a different story. But that's getting to ahead of myself. Tonight it's about putting three chumps out of their misery. Hell, I'd be surprised if the Universe doesn't cave in putting three black hole sized egos like theirs in the same ring. But tonight, those egos get deflated. Because it doesn't matter if it's a different show or a different country...Scott O'Dell is and forever will be...
That god damn better.
Scott leaves the interview area with confidence. On paper his side where the clear cut favorites. But could they live up to that billing?
