We recently managed to catch up with Adam Devlin, who was still in New York City. As is well documented, Devlin and Osh Vaughn were brutally assault at March Madness following the Dual Blood match at the hands of Scott O'Dell, Bryan Jasta, Primo Valiante and The Burns Brothers Ray & Matt, now calling themselves "Upper Echelon". Adam had some candid words when we spoke to him.
DotNet: It's clear that what started out as a simple rivalry has escalated into something more personal. You're no stranger to personal vendettas.
No, I'm not. I seem to have all the luck when it comes to attracting opposition that like to step it up a notch, as well as beat people down after matches.
DotNet: So we can assume that the assault you and Vaughn suffered won't be taken lying down?
Ya'think? Everyone has me pegged as "The Boyscout". The good guy. The dude who's always gonna' do the right thing. But there's only but so much a guy can take. And I've officially reached my limit. Upper Echelon made a big mistake. Scott O'Dell made a big mistake when he hit me with that camera. He should have kept on hitting me. He should have bashed my skull in until I couldn't walk. He should have made sure I wasn't going to be able to retaliate. Because now, come Overload...there's going to be a retaliation. No...there's gonna be a retribution. I might be XWA 2008 Co-Hero Of The Year, but I think it's time those chumps see the REAL reason why I have the nickname "Daredevil". From this point on, it's no more Mr. Nice Guy. And I hope that they all read this lil' column. Because I want each one of them to know that they won't know when it's coming, or how it's coming. But it's coming. And when they see it, we'll see how much fight they have left in them when the dust settles.
Fierce words from Adam Devlin. XWA Overload, set to return to the airwaves in 3 weeks might be seeing "Red". Stay tuned.
