The wrestling world is still reeling from the sudden and untimely shutdown of Florida based organization Malicious Intent Wrestling. (MIW) Founded in 2007, MIW had been one of the lesser known, but still widely popular independents in the country to the die hard wrestling fans. 2009 would prove a tough year financially for the company, as the owner inevitably (And suddenly) opted to liquidate all of MIW's assets knowing he no longer had the resources to keep the organization afloat. News of this reached the desk of XWA VP Rodolphe Gallas, and he acted quickly to sure up all loose end in meeting with MIW's trustees. The1XWA.net now has confirmation that XWA is now in ownership of MIWs intellectual properties. This of course isn't the 1st time such rapid expansion has come through XWA. In 2007, Chris Lionheart would opt to sell most owning interest of The New Blood Wrestling (TNB) to XWA, in the process accepting a share in XWA's stocks, and in 2008, Prime Time Wrestling (PTW) was bought in full by XWA, and many of it's superstars where quickly signed to XWA contracts.
While the extent of the buyout of MIW is still to be determined, several of it's superstars have met with VP Gallas behind closed doors and worked out contracts that will make the elligible for the upcoming XWA Draft. While these superstars, 2 of whom being the major title holders of MIW have committed to XWA, MIW's titles and title history will not included in the deal. We managed to get a statement from Mr. Gallas...
"While it is unfortunate that such a promising company as MIW has gone under, it's to be expected in these economic times. MIW was home to some very talented wrestlers, and we are glad to have them in the XWA fold. I have met with four of them, and they are in complete understanding of there status coming into XWA. They know that from the moment the signed the dotted line, they are in an uphill climb. But I can say from the meeting that these men are consummate professionals, and I look forward to seeing what each one will bring to the table."

XWA Superstars returning soon
Two former champions and a future champion in the making will be returning to the ring soon. The1XWA.net has learned that just in time for the XWA Draft, former World Champion Keith Wyle, Former Pure Champion Kris Cade and Tommy Tryton will be rejoining the active roster. Wyle had been away from action for several months due in part by personal issues, but within the last week had sent word to XWA Management that he will be making a full return to action at or around the time of the impending draft. Kris Cade had taken time off from wrestling to spend much needed time with his family. Cade became a father in late September of 2008, and had been inactive since. However with the draft fast approaching, Cade is poised to burst back on the scene and make an impact wherever he may land as result of the draft. Tommy Tryton, who put in a stellar performance his 1st year in XWA, had been overseas filming a Medieval War epic in Europe. The film entitled "Of The Round" is based on the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights Of The Round Table. Tryton plays the massive powerhouse Percival in the film, which is now in post production and scheduled for release later this summer.
Stay tuned of course for more late breaking news in and around the XWA on The1XWA.net.
