Standing backstage during the March Madness show, the lovely interviewer Fabiola stood beside one Jeremy Pendelton.
Fabiola: Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time is one of the XWA's new crop of talent for 2009, Jeremy Pendelton III. Jeremy, on the last Takedown you scored your first win in the XWA against Chris Punisher. That puts the two of you at one win a piece against each other. Any chances for another match tonight?
Absolutely. I would have thought that Punisher would have made his case for a "tie-breaker" here in Madison Square Garden, but then again...maybe Fabiola, just maybe...my victory against him has convinced the man that he's dealing with something more than just another new wrestler.
You see, it takes more than being brutal or clever to make it in this business. You need to have something more, that special quality that sets you apart from the rest of the pack, and like I said from the moment I set foot in the XWA, I'm that man. The "head of the class", and more than ready to prove it to anyone who's brave enough to stand in the ring with the man who exemplifies what it means to be Extraordinarily Excellent!
So Chris, just like you in the ring...I'm one step ahead of you. It's time for the famous rubber to hit the famous rose. It's time, right here tonight in one of wrestling's greatest havens for you and me to settle the score. If it's true that New York loves a winner, then these people here in MSG are going to love me...or maybe they might end up hating me for what I'm going to do to you tonight Chris Punisher.
It really doesn't make a difference to me either way. All that matters right now is you taking this challenge and stepping into squared circle tonight, so that my lesson in being the standard bearer can continue for you, and for everyone else in the XWA.
Strong statements and claims by Pendelton (as usual) as he waited for an answer...
