So that everyone on the board knows exactly where things stand, and the way things will be going, this is the way the next month or so of XWA will go.
"March" Madness: The PPV is being worked on as we speak. If all go to plan, the entire event will be done (As in simmed, edited and uploaded) by this coming Saturday.
The XWA Draft: The official brand split of the MALE roster of XWA. Glitter will remain unchanged. The characters that will be involved in the draft are all characters that we have received caws for in 2009. If you haven't sent in a caw, you will not be included in the draft. You character will be placed on a show in accordance to each show's particular needs and the "style" of your caw upon it being submitted to us.
XWA Takedown Tournament: Following the draft, there will be a Supershow of sorts, but it will only be involving the roster of Takedown. This show will be a 1 night tournament to declare Takedown's "Champion". Role Playing will be completely optional for this show, it's merely to sew up the holder of XWA's newest title. The name of the title will be revealed by 3X whenever he comes up with it. Glitter and Overload will be "Off" during this time. (The whole point behind this is to try and get caught up, less work for us means we can do it faster.)
Vendetta: After the Supershow, we jump right into our annual trip to Japan, Vendetta. Vendetta will be open to the entire roster, and we'll basically continue from where things were left at March Madness. After Vendetta, we'll finally be back on pace and go back to our normal schedule.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overload restructuring-
With the splitting of male roster, comes need to reformat particular things, name in terms of Overload. Historically, Overload has been the "Storyline" show of XWA. The brand split will effectively nix this aspect of Overload. O2A posting will be allowed on Overload between the Overload roster, however in light of the fact some O2a posts have recently been going unanswered, on Overload I hold the right to book your character in any match against ANY opponent. Meaning if your make an o2a post and it goes unanswered for more then 2 days, I will book posting character in a match against another character not involved in a match or storyline regardless of tenure, activity or skill level. The last thing I'm going to be having is unanswered posts, especially when you have active members not involved in major angles, or any angles at all for that matter. This rule will be put in place for ALL THREE SHOWS.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Draft -
The process of the actual draft has already been worked out. It won't be some major IC post, though a post will be made and open interaction will be allowed as result. Where your character lands will depend on two different factors:
The "Style" of your character
What angles/storylines your character is presently in
Unlike WWE's draft, we're not about to break up storylines, alliances or anything in between. So character involved in the major angles will all placed on the respective shows those angles have manifested on. The rest of the grid will be divided according the factors mentioned above, as well as were we feel they'll "fit". Tenure in XWA and skill level hold no baring in where you are placed, though we will balance things out so that the more seasoned RPers will have other veterans to work with, while the still improving (Or not improving) Rpers will still have a chance to improve as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The XWA Men's Divisions -
No-Limits Division: To open things up further for all competitors on Overload, the X-Gen Division will be completely restructured and will now be called the No-Limits Division, as will the title be the No-Limits Title. The stringent restrictions on the division will be officially lifted, allowing anyone to compete for it. As per the name "No-Limits", the play style of No-Limits matches will be exactly the same as the X-Gen, a hybrid of Extreme and Hardcore geared for more fast paced, high octane matches. Any competitor on Overload who meets the typical status needed to challenge for a title (That being more then one month of COMPLETE activity...meaning you've competed on 3 consecutive shows) regardless of size or abilities. But bare in mind that those who have abilities that make use of the "features" No-Limits matches will be under will still hold a decided advantage.
Pure Division: A radical change in the structure of Pure Rules matches is being worked on. It will not only change the dynamic and play style of the match, but also handlers will approach the match type as well. More details will be made available soon.
Tag Team Division: The Tag Team Division will be the only dual brand division. Teams will be drafted to each respected brand, but the Tag Team Titles will not be exclusive to one show. Meaning a Takedown team can face an Overload team on Overload for the belts, and vice versa.
National Title: The national title will become the official major title of Overload. It can be fought in under any match the title holder chooses, or is assigned by staff. You'll need to be active for at least 6 consecutive shows or appointed No.1 Contender by the Admins (Me and Thr33x) to compete for it.
"Takedown" Title: A new title to be created as the Takedown equivalent to the National Title. The same rules that apply to this title as the National Title. More info on this title will be given by Thr33x as we draw near the Supershow.
XWA World Title: The "Big" belt of XWA's men's division. Only the best, most active and most productive handlers will be selected to contend for this title. As their will be 2 shows, selection for contendership will alter between shows for fairness. One month, the best overall handler of one show will be selected as No.1 Contender, and when his contention is up (Being he loses the title match, wins it, and then either loses or wins the resulting rematch should the losing champion exact the rematch clause) the next contender will be chosen from the opposite show. There will be 3 PPVs where the World Title will be decided in Multi-Man matches:
The American Classic Match @ Independence Day
The Devil's Playground Match @ Devil's Night
The Last Dance @ XGamesIII
Selection for these matches will also be determined by show. (Example: If a Takedown character is World Champion, 2 Takedown characters and 3 Overload characters will be chosen.) Selection for World Title chances are SOLELY at the discretion of me and Thr33x. If we feel your character has done enough and can carry the World Title well, we will give you your chance at it. More so then years past, the best of the best of the BEST of XWA will be represented in XWA World Title matches.
As mentioned earlier, Glitter will remain unchanged and unaffected by the draft and show restructuring. However, ideas are being worked on to possibly increase participation, which has kinda been lacking compared to the men in the early going. It won't be anything as dramatic as the Men's Draft, but it will shake things up. That's how things are going to go in the next month or so. Now you know, so plan accordingly.
