Face To Face (Mari)

Glitter had came back from a commerical break, and as the show resumed, Korn's "Make Me Bad" began to play over the PA system. That meant that the Diamond Division's resident blueblood was soon to make her first appearance of the new campaign.

As had always been the case, her personal assistant Mr. Wolfe joined the ever confident British femme as she walked the ramp and made her way into the squared circle.

Rose: Obviously, Tiffany Masterson is not a very likeable person with that prim and propper snobby attitude of hers, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she is a great wrestler, and was one of the most promising new talents of 2008.

Lucy: And we've seen this rivalry between her and Marisol Cardinale develop right before our eyes. It's made for some classic matches last year, and after what was said last week it looks as if they're going to pick up where they left off.

As she stepped into the ring, Wolfe went around to collect a microphone for her. He reached it into the ring for Tiffany who now focussed her attention on the cameras, the fans to some degree, and especially her rival.

Last week, your "Sensational Senorita" Marisol Cardinale said that she wanted to see me face to face, eye to eye inside of this ring. Well, as is usually the case in all things regarding myself, I'm one step ahead. I wasn't going to simply wait for her to come out here and swoon you simpletons with her exotic accent.

Oh no, my goals are pure and simple tonight, as well as for the rest of this entire year. You see, I have somewhat turned over a new leaf everyone. This had always been nothing more than a hobby to me...and even with that frame of mind I was good enough to have earned a place in the main event of XGAMES2 and come within an eyelash of being the Diamond Champion.

You'd wonder what it is that I can do then when I actually do take things more seriously, hmm? Well...wonder no more.

If the rest of the Diamond Division has regained or renewed their focus as they say, then far be it for me not to join the trend, because the last thing that Tiffany Masterson will do is fall behind anyone. What that means for the rest of you Diamonds is that I'm going to be even more calculating than before, and that those of you who haven't had the privilege of stepping into this ring and facing the definition of a ruthlessly efficient competitor will soon earn it.

As Ms. Cardinale is soon to find out for herself, that's not going to be the most pleasant of experiences. Now, Marisol...you wanted me out here, here I am. Let's not delay this any longer than necessary.

"Beautiful Liar" by Shakira and Beyonce begins to play, and the excitement of the the fans build ups to a fever pitch as Marisol does make her appearance. She's the only Sensational yet to be in action at this early portion of the year, and that was surely going to change tonight.

All smiles as she made her way down the ramp, Marisol loved the reaction she got from the crowd. It was one of the main things she always adored about being a pro wrestler...the fact that those who loved the sport with her all shared that same passion she felt for it.

After greeting and embracing fans at ringside, her attention soon turned toward the ring itself, and Tiffany inside of it. A crewhand gives her a mic before she stepped into the ring, and before you know it, there they were, face to face once again.

Rose: And here's the "Sensational Senorita" as Tiffany called her. I kinda like that actually. What a transformation Mari had in 2008, huh? We saw a much more polished competitor in her last season, and one who I think honestly loves this business more than anyone else in the XWA, man or woman!

Lucy: You can credit all of that to her training with the legendary Tokyo Typhoon. She's a woman who respects the sport and knows the business of wrestling all the same, and I think she's succeeded in instilling that into Marisol, a woman who had already been born literally into wrestling. It's almost genetic!

Tiffany. Pardon me if I don't sound entirely convinced of your new "lease on life". You think think it'd be that easy to convince people that you're more focused? If you ask me, it sounds simply as if being so close to becoming the Diamond Champion has had a lasting effect.

Even the most jaded individuals changes they're attitude when it's more possible to reach the pinnacle of what they do, and that's because they know that they're going to have to do more, work harder and sacrifice more in order to reach that level. That's what I think is your story, Tiffany. You realize that just being good at what you do isn't always going to be a recipe for success.

She nods and paused for a moment as the fans continued to cheer on.

Theory or no theory though, I've told you what I think...now let me tell you what I know. I know that no matter what, just as I've said it before...if ever you strive to reach that next level, I'll be right there with you fighting tooth and nail. You said something about being ahead and not falling behind. I'm going to have to beg to differ with both of those statements Tiff, because no matter where you stand, you had better know that I'm going to be right there standing in your way, because everything you want...I want more.

Is that so?

Tiffany smiled after Marisol finished speak. She raises her mic after asking that question, and continues.

So I guess that means that we indeed are right back where we left off last year then, aren't we? Tonight, the race begins again. I don't know about sacrificing and all of that you spoke of, but I do know this...I always get what I want, and if I don't need it then that's because I don't want it.

What I want tonight is to use you as an example to the entire Diamond Division. Through you, I'm going to demonstrate just exactly what I'm capable of and willing to do in order to reach my goals. I hope you've trained well under The Typhoon...you're going to need every bit of it.

Then it sounds to me as if you and I are coming out here to do the same thing later tonight then.

Mari grins confidently.

I wouldn't be so worried about the lessons I've learned though Tiffany. I'd be worried about the ones that you're going to learn tonight!

That same confidence was what carried Mari out of the ring after her last words as her theme song began to play once again.

Rose: Well, it looks like yet another old rivalry is going to be renewed tonight, and if it's anything like the matches these two ladies have had last year Lucy, we're in for another classic!
