To those who don't know what it is, Poser 7 is one of the more well known CGI rendering programs available. Combined with Photoshop for texure editing and an animation program, with skill and patience one can make GCI moves from scratch. 2 days ago I got the program, and after 2 days of trial, error and some SERIOUS tutorial watching/reading, I'm happy to share with you all...this. Yea, it's not all that spectacular, just a simple beach scene. The scene itself I downloaded with a crap load of other stuff, but the model I built using Victoria 4 (Or V4 for short), the primary CG model used across various render programs. (I know she's kinda thick, but that's how I like 'em) Not bad for 2 days work, but of course I'm still in every possible way a novice at it. In time there will be more to come. Much more ambitious stuff as I continue to learn the program.

Calling her thick is like calling water wet, LMAO! Very nice for your 1st work. Whatever you do next, make it a frontal view. [/fanservice]

I agree, that's pretty good for your rookie entry. I'm looking forward to what you do next.

So, I got back to tooling around on Poser 7 after reading up on how to make high quality renders. They take SERIOUS time to do, and also take a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to actually render. But the end results are well...just see for yourself. I tested to see how big I could get a render, and the highest resolution I got was 2677 x 4000, with 100.0 pixels. Because of the size of the images I won't post them, but they are FRACKIN' GORGEOUS. Needless to say I think I've got the rendering aspect of the program down. Next comes the tricky part... Animation. That's usually the one that takes months to complete. I've started reading up on animation, but I'm not even going to try and attempt one until after the season is over when I'll have the proper time to invest in it. (And potential an better PC, as that's going to be a my next major purchase)

These are incredible! The difference is staggering actually. Just one step closer to becoming a game designer now.

There's schooling required for that, which might be in the cards...maybe. I'm looking to shop my talents around in graphic design, and knowing Poser 7 is a nice addition to the resume alongside Photoshop. I'm going to work another render later tonight.

Be sure to hit Youtube and watch as much on the basics as possible, otherwise you'll be lost. Also, torrents are your friend. Most Poser content you have to pay for, but if you hunt around you can find some decent free stuff. But essentially, if you want the high quality content, you're eventually gonna have to shell out cash for it. As promised, here's a new render made earlier tonight. This one I actually saved the base model of. Her name is Leena. ;D

It's the hair, which I found via a torrent. I also managed to find some punk styled gear, which I put into my next work.

I'm actually thinking of creating a CAW representation of her, of course without the streaked hair (Let's hope THQ rectifies that minor detail on 2010). Everthing else I think I can recreate to some bit of accuracy on SVR09.
