Saving The Last Dance (02Main Eventers)

Prudential Center, Newark, NJ-the TakeDown season finale. The final show before XGames and the end of XWA's first season, and there was certain no shortage of excitement going over the course of the evening leading up to "Party Like A Rockstar" playing over the PA with enough volume to still be heard over the sea of boos that came with the arrival of the R*Star to the scene. Despite the bandage that had covered his war-wound from the street fight Vs. Kayn, Robby still looked like a million bucks stepping out in a fur coat reminiscent of the great Joe Namath and black leather pants and boots.

BuZZ: There goes a man who can very well win it all right there! You know what Roachy? I'm gonna go out on a whim here and say that Robby Sylk will be the man to walk outta MSG the new XWA World Champ! I mean look at him, he's a SUPERSTAR!!!

Roach: Every man and woman who competes in this company is a superstar Buzz. I would go as far as to be writing off the other three guys who're gonna be in that match. They've proven themselves just as well as Sylk has, maybe even MORE so.

BuZZ: Whatever, you're just jealous.

Sylk stood inside of the middle of the ring with mic and hand, soaking in the boos that came his way.

Let's see here. We go from Las Vegas to Newark, New freakin' "Joisy" here. Now, I'm not too fond of Sin City myself, but damn is this ever a step now the evolutionary ladder here or what?

Boooooooooo!!!! Robby Sucks! Robby Sucks!

This coming from a bunch a swamp dwellers, hah! You guys must be kidding me here. You know why it is that I even bothered to show up to this dump? Because I have my eyes on the prize right now, that's why. See I might have got knocked around a bit by the big freak known as Kayn, but you know something? It doesn't even matter! I'm a certified main eventer here people, and I have the victory to prove it! YOUR 2007 Soul Survivor stands right in this ring now, and that means that I've got a one way ticket to the "last dance" of 2007 baby!

Right across the river in MSG, XGames 1...me and three other men in one match for the biggest prize in the industry today, the XWAWorld Title AND the title Combatant Xtraordinaire! Oh your damn right that's exactly where the Red Carpet Special belongs, at the top of the mountain. Robby Sylk does not need your approval, bitches! Robby Sylk doesn't need to have the fan's support because let's just face facts here ladies and gents, there are PLENTY of guys out there who wish they were in the position that I'm in right now, and compared to the competition I'm stacked up against, I don't see myself losing this match.

Let's take a look at those guys now, shall we?



First off we got Adam Devlin. One of the "originals" so they say, down since day one if you will. What has this bum done all season aside from pick fights with a guy who was his boss for the most part. I mean, do you really want some comic book geek to be your world champion? "The Man Without Fear" my ass, Adam. There is one thing that you fear dude and that's the spotlight. This has gotta be the first BIG match you've ever been in right? You've been here THIS long and it's a wonder than anybody even knows who the hell you are!



Oh yeah, then we got the Black Hercules here, Xander Xavier Luther. Hey there, tell me something dude. Is that your REAL name? I mean how many acronym names do we need in this comapany huh? You got my girl Mya, the you got SHE, both of whom are some hot pieces I must say, and then you have...you! Yeah yeah so you've got that 5 Defense National Title streak that's about to be BROKEN by Bryan Jasta when he school's another sucker, but do you REALLY think you're ready for the big time, big man? No, if you ask me, you need to say in the second tier where you're nice and cosy and let the real stars handle theirs.



Last but not least...the champ himself. The Wyldman! More like the Luckyman if you ask me. We all saw the match, the Devil's Playground where Keith MIRACULOUSLY retained the title. Now all of you idiots out there have been gushing over this guy, saying that it was a defining moment and the biggest win of his career, blah, blah, blah. The truth of the matter here folks, and includes you too champ, is that Devil's Night was just the "semis". All it was was the conference championship, something that you people here in Jersey should be use to LOSING.

Not Keith though, he came through in the clutch and now for his efforts he gets to step into The Last Dance, the main event, the SUPERBOWL of the XWA. The problem for you though Keith is that as resilient as you've been in the past, I bring just that much more to the table, and none of you three...NONE are even close to the awesomeness that I wreak.

Now I know that you guys are all jealous of the R*Star, yeah every single one of you out there! But you need to realize that I'm on another plane of being entirely. I am the Red Carpet Special, I am the Stealer of the Show ladies and gents and most importantly I'm a man of DESTINY here people. That title is coming to me because quite simply put this place needs a champion that's gonna do it justice an my peeps am the only one who can fits the bill!

He finishes his rant, and suddenly...

Becoming The Bull hits the PA, and the crowd comes alive as Adam Devlin enters the arena. As he walks down to the ring, he gives high 5's to fans along the walkway. He rolls into the ring and raises his fists in the air as the fans continue to shower him with cheers. He turns around and gives Sylk a look up and down with a smirk, and walks to the ropes to get a mic. Standing across the ring from Sylk, Adam begins.

Ok, I know Keith & Kayn have the market cornered on this but...WHAT'S UP NEWARK!!!

He gets the usual POP from the fans.

Now, Ronny, Robby, Robby. It's been one hell of a year, hasn't it? And now it all comes down to one night. One match. "The Last Dance" as you so affectionately dubbed it. But I'm a lil' upset at you being so misinformed, Robby. Just a few minute ago, you told a bold faced LIE. You opened that burger trap of yours, and said that I've done nothing this year but fight "The Powers That Be". Well if you wanna call it that, I guess you can call me XWA's Chuck D. AND Flava Flav. Because I did it willingly. You see, I stand for something more then just coming out to the ring and flapping my gums. Something that you and you pillow pal Devine have been good for since day one.

Adam paces a bit as the crown continues to cheer him on.

And that line about me being "Afraid of the spotlight"? Real clever. Now see, if you hadn't spent so many months "partying like a rockstar" and playing hide the salami with STD infested skin flick rejects, you might have realized that I've seen more time in the spotlight then you EVER have. I've faughten with and along side some of the best of the best in this company. I've had wars with Bryan Jasta, I've teamed up with the likes of The Fierharts & Kayn, and I'm one of THREE men walking this PLANET who can say they stared in the eyes of Draco Thanatos and a BEAT him. And let's not even get into me beating Steven Higby & and Sabastien Gallas. ALL men who I'd rank higher up the food chain then YOU.

Adam shoots a smirk at Robby and finishes his point.

I've been wrestling big matches ALL YEAR. I've lost a few, but I've won a great deal more. Oh, and to elaborate a bit more...they call me "The Man Without Fear" because I don't back down from a challenge. Though tonight's fight might be as challenging as I'd hope, because I get to take on a consummate athlete in XXL, and a loud mouth SHNOOCK in you. Just do me a fave, party boy, dry not to trip over your own boot straps.

Adam lowers his mic, ready for whatever might come next.

Big matches? Dude, you've gotta be high or something. The only and I mean ONLY reason you're even in the picture is on a technicality. The fact that the guy who should have been a part of this lil shindig couldn't keep up with his obligation and had to drop out. See, I'm the only guy in this main event who actually EARNED his spot in it. You look at Adam Devlin and XXL and you see "Co-Winners". You look at Robby Sylk and you see SOUL SURVIVOR baby, as in only one. As in the last man standing in a gauntlet full of XWA Superstars to stake his claim in the "Last Dance". Oh yeah, did I mention Tag Team Champion as well? Yeah...so you can take all that mid-card crap and stick it.

As far as I'm concerned this right here is your 15 seconds of fame. Your one moment on the big stage. I would suggest that you enjoy it and try to milk it for all it's worth because once I make my great ascension to the top of this industry at XGames, all that you've done just really isn't gonna matter much. Nobody will remember the guy who loses or the guy who doesn't win, Dev...their only gonna be talking about the man who becomes the new champion of XWA, and that man is going to be ME. I'm just destined for greatness, bro...you should be honored that you've been chosen to be a part of the crowing ceremony of the one true "King Of The World"...and you won't even need to kneel cuz you're already gonna be bowing down after I'm done with you!

Adam shrugs off Robby's ranting. He raises his mic to reply.

You'd know a little something about being on your knees, wouldn't you?

The crowd laugh at Adam's crack at Robby.

Listen up, Rock Star. You can flap off at the gums all you want. Keep trying to fool yourself into thinking you're the only guy who rightfully belongs in the main event of Xgames. You'll be fooling yourself right out of begin the World Champ. You're good, Sylk. To an extent. You've proven you can rise to the occasion when the opportunity arises. But this ain't Soul Survivor, where you basically sat in the cut, waited for you shot to pounce, and pulled out the win. And you SURE as hell don't have your butt buddy Devine to cover your ass. Come Xgames...

Adam points to one turnbuckle...

In one corner there's gonna be you.

He points to the next.

In the next, the REIGNING World Champion coming off the BIGGEST win of his career.

Then the next...

In that corner, a former ALL-PRO Defensive Lineman, and Former XWA National Champion.[/color]

Then the last...

And then there's gonna be ME in that last corner. And when the dust settles, one of us will be walking out of MSG the World Champion. But tonight, it's not about titles. It's not about the biggest stage in Wrestling, in the World's Most Famous Arena. Tonight, it's about building momentum. It's about stepping in this ring, and showing the reason we ARE the men in the main event. I KNOW XXL's gonna bring the ruckus, just as I know you're gonna bring you ever flapping lip. I just hope you don't trip over and fall flat on your face. [/color]
