Overload comes back from a break late in the show, and the entrance theme of the reigning X-Gen champion hits the PA. He steps out from behind the stage with the title draped over his shoulder.
Tony: Here comes the X-Gen Champion Brian Yang, in many people's eyes, one of the best youngsters in wrestling, save for the not so littel chip on his shoulder.
Willy: Don't forget he's also the longest reigning champion currently in XWA. All the talent in tha' world, and an ego ta' match it.
Yang now stood center ring. A mic provided upon entering, he doesn't waste a moment speaking out to the masses.
So here we are. Season three of XWA in full throw. Rivalries springing up out of no where, or rekindled from last season. Everyone is jockeying for that early edge. Looking to come out of the gates fast and make that much ballyhooed "statement". You know...the one the casual "I wanna be cooler the everyone else" guy will come out here and bold faced lie about NOT wanting to make? I'm sorry, but the poor son of a bitch who comes out here and says ver-batum "I'm not here to make a statement" is so full of BS he leaves brown stains on chairs when he gets up. The fact of the matter is everyone...EVVVVVVVVVVERYONE in this business wants to make a statement. From the new jacks to the big dogs. Each one of them want to send the message to the rest of the roster, and to the world. And the message is always the same.
But then, you have me.
Yang gives a cocky grin as he pauses briefly.
I'm in a different category then all of the rest. Why you ask? It's simple. While everyone and their momma's want to make a statement in this business...I AM "The Statement". I don't have to prove myself. I've already done it. I'm the X-Gen Champion. The toughest wrestling division in ALL of wrestling. A Division that pushes the limits. A Division where TRUE athletes perform. Where it's all about stepping up the game and raising the bar. And I'm not only champion, but I'm a DOMINANT champion. I've defeated just about everyone there is to defeat in the X-Gen Division. Let me run down the names for those of you not keeping score.
Ryan Blaze? Beat 'em.
Da King Cobra?...er...Kelon JAH...or whatever the hell he calls himself...Beat 'em.
Jimmy Ames? Bested.
Pablo Reyes? Owned.
Saizo Kodanashi? Schooled.
Jeff Heaven? Laid out.
Evan Fate? Done.
Seriously...who the hell is there left? One of these new guys maybe? NOT!!! Maybe when you chumps move up the food chain. Maybe one of the Hardcore guys? Nah, they seem to be just fine beating each other over the head with Kendo sticks, or cheese grating themselves. Any of you see that idiot on Takedown? If that's the level of competition I've got ahead of me in 2009, Kayn's gonna be real upset that his record didn't even survive half a year. I'm sitting of five defenses since winning this title back in September. And I've taken on everyone who's stepped up, and beat them...soundly I might add. It's come to the point where I'm pretty much Wrestling's Anderson Silva. I've beaten everyone there is to beat, so now what? I'll tell you what. Tonight, I'm the one issuing the challenge. And the challenge goes out to any X-Gen competitor who thinks they can stomach the idea of getting shown up by the best Junior Heavyweight alive. And guys? At least make me sweat a little, eh?
The over-confident Yang turns to the stage and waits for the man who would emerge to accept his challenge.
