Overload returns from it's 1st break, and Project 86's "Your Heroes Are Dead" fills the PA of the Arena. This of course was the new theme song of a not so new person in XWA, "The Franchise" Scott O'Dell. He steps out from backstage and the arena fills with boos. His reputation proceeded him perfectly. At the top of the stage, Scott looks around the arena with a satisfied smirk. Such contempt for him meant the fans knew all to well that he was STILL "The Man You Love To Hate." Scott begins his walk down the ramp.
Tony: What more can be said about this man that hasn't been said already? Brash. Arrogant. Egotistical. Self-Centered. Narcissistic.
Willy: Yea, but don't forget skilled, technically sound, physically gifted and ring savvy. Hate em or love em, there ain't many guys in the biz that has the package O'Dell has.
Tony: Very true. The problem is, he's always the 1st person to point that out.
By this time, Scott was in the center of the ring. Clad in a stylish black Armani suit, Scott brings the mic given to him up to his lips and speaks two words.
Miss me?
A chorus of boos ring out in the arena so loud, it would make your ears pop. Scott grins ear to ear as the fans show him "love".
Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same. You'd figure after all this time, you people would know what I'm about. But then again, I guess that's the reason why you boo me. Why you LOATHE me. Because you already know what I'm about. The big three...
Me...myself...and I.
He pauses with his signature cheeky smirk. As the fans continue to boos and heckle him, Scott continues on.
Make no bones about it, people. That's never going to change. I'm the single biggest name in wrestling hands down. And why? Because I do things, my way. Stepping in the ring with Scott O'Dell is the biggest thing you can do in your career. I MAKE people in this business. Don't believe me? Ask Keith Wyle. Ask Brandon Payne. Ask our new "champ" Syrus Sykes.
The fans cheer momentarily at the mention of the champion.
Oh yea, go ahead. Cheer him. Applaud him for a job well done at XGamesII. Applaud him for managing to beat me in a farce of a contest he and the rest of the world damn well know I had no business being in...in that Fight To The Finish match. Fact of the matter is before he got in the ring with me, he was just another babyface. After he got in the ring with me, he was championship material. Oh, by the way, Syrus...you're welcome. But that was then, and this is now. And this right here in the ring, is a totally new Scott O'Dell. A better...Scott O'Dell. Faster. Stronger. Smarter. You see once the year ends, I don't sit on my ass for four months like most of the other jokers around here. I hit the gym. I train. I destroy myself and rebuild myself over again. Because that's what it takes to not just be on top, but stay on top. And dare I say...I'm in the best shape of my career.
Pacing the ring now, Scott adds...
But I'm not the only one. Oh no...not by a longshot. In fact, there's a couple of us actually. But instead of talking on their behalf, I'll let them say what they have to say in their own words.
Tony: W...what the hell is he talking about?
Just then, the theme of another wrestler cues.
