*Note: Overload chronologically takes place 4 days after Taekdown, so the post will reflect the events of Takedown having already happened.*
The pyro array finishes, the smoke clears, and the arena comes alive as XWA Overload makes it's 1st broadcast of 2009.
Tony: Hello and welcome to XWA OVERLOAD. We're glad to be with you tonight, kicking off another exciting year of XWA competition. And judging from what transpired on Takedown earlier this week, it's going to start off interestingly indeed.
Willy: You ain't whistlin' dixie there, Antonio. That was some weird jive the went down. Tha' hell was that message s'posed to mean?
Tony: Nada clue, Willy. XWA Management is still trying to figure that out as we speak, and when more info is available, we'll bring it to your attention ladies and gents.
Just as Tony finishes, Dio's "Holy Diver" cues over the PA, signaling the arrival of XWA GM Rodolphe Gallas. The crowd gives him a standing ovation as he makes his way to the ring.
Looks like we're kickin' thangs off wit' THA BOSS.
Upon entering the ring, Gallas is handed a mic. He doesn't waste time addressing the fans.
I would like to start off in speaking on 'ze events of Takedown earlier 'zis week. It is still unknown what caused 'ze technical malfunction, or 'ze exact meaning of 'ze message we all bared witness to. But rest assured XWA Management is diligently looking in 'ze matter, and we WILL get to 'ze bottom of it. On 'zat note, welcome to 'ze season premiere of XWA Overload. Tonight, we have a show jam packed with some of 'ze best wrestling you will see anywhere. In 2008...men emerged to become legends. In 2009, the strive to become immortals. And 'ze quest for 'zat immortality begins tonight. Who will rise? Who will fall? Only time, and the will of men...shall tell. Enjoy 'ze show, ladies and gentlemen.
Gallas lowers his mic, and his music plays once again. He makes his way to exiting the ring.
