He had defied the odds against him. Taking on one opponent seemed doable, but two in a row? It seemed impossible for a guy like Testudo, especially with his newly acquired Pure Championship on the line. However, he beat the odds and won the fans over by defeating not only MG, but also Cinder Xavier on the same night to keep his title. The giant could be seen staggering backstage, obviously tired from the hell he just went through: giving MG four separate Guard Smashes just to brutally destroy him seemed to sap the strength out of the giant, as he had a tough time against Cinder. Finding a nearby bench with a table of beverages opposite it, Testudo, with his Pure title resting on his left shoulder, grabbed a water bottle from the table before slamming down hard onto the bench, gaining a huge breather.
"Damn, that took the wind outta me..."[/b][/size]
Sighing with relief, Testudo unscrewed the cap of the bottle and took a huge amount from the bottle to rehydrate himself. Gasping for air afterwards, the Pure Champion merely rested his head back, unaware of who might approach him next.

The man who would approach him? None other then the reigning National Champion Bryan Jasta. He stands and stares at Testudo with an unimpressed smirk on his face before speaking.
Well what have...we...here. The STILL Pure Champion, Testudo. I guess some kind of congratulations are in order. I mean, defending a title twice in one night is quite a feat. Even if it's against a pair of complete and total jokes. On one hand, we have a guy who shouldn't be in wrestling, he should be the prison bitch of some guy named Big Smooth, and on the other hand, we have a guy who's about as over-rated in this industry as they come. A guy who has, and probably ALWAYS will be in the shadow of his "big brother"...hell even all the people he's allied with his entire career. But hey, a win's a win right? WRONG!!!
Jasta laughs to himself as he continues.
You see, what I did out there in that ring? THAT'S the mark of championship dominance. I took one of the best and brightest young talents in XWA. A man who is on the rise, and I left him a bloody mess. I physically dominated a CAPABLE opponent. As opposed to you dominating a pair of hacks. It's a tale of two champions. One, the epidemy of DOMINANCE. The other, a guy keeping a title warm until a REAL challenger comes along an does what your "challengers" tonight couldn't. Prove that your career isn't worth the laces on your boots.
Jasta was true to his antagonizing form. He simply give his signature evil grin as he awaits Testudo's response.

Testudo merely looked up at Jasta with an unimpressed look. He remembered the small pasting Jasta delivered towards Testudo when he first accepted Van Hayden's challenge, claiming that "all you had to do was kick him in the leg to make his hip break". Sighing yet again, Testudo removed himself from the bench, standing at his full height of 6'11". The Pure Champ merely looked down upon the Jasta, just as he did a minute ago. Sure, the National Title has more value than the Pure title, but it's the holder that gives it the credibility. Shaking his head, Testudo finally spoke.
"You know, it's people like you, that people like me truly despise in the business. You're arrogant, you're brash, and you're a downright PRICK. If I wasn't holding the Pure Title on me right now, I'd be the first person to challenge you after Van Hayden. It's kids like him that actually give the wrestling business a good reputation, while assholes like yourself will do anything just to make it your own personal playground."[/b]
He wasn't finished there. Taking a sip from his water bottle, Testudo continued.
"If you believe that you're capable of catapulting yourself to the top of XWA, why the delay? Why lower yourself to a title like the National Title, when you feel you should be going for something like the World Title? I'll tell you why. Because you're afraid. Afraid of making yourself look like a hoax when you suddenly fall at the first hurdle. You're just keeping a hold of that National Title because you know too damn well that it's all you're capable of."[/b]

Jasta smiles with glee. He came to get under his skin, and it would seem it was working. He speaks his response.
Yousee, I'd expect that kind of response from a man who's been thus far eating from the bottom of the barrel all season. This National Title here, it has something the World Title lacks. Prestige. Sure, The World Title is THE championship of XWA. But who's held the World Title? Scott O'Dell, Jon Payne & Keith Wyle. Three talented superstars in there own right. But three men who don't hold a CANDLE to me in that ring. The longest running champion in XWA to date held this very belt. At least, up until I shatter his little record.
He clears his throat and continues.
What's funny, is the first thing you can think of doing is questioning my championship pedigree. Let me remind you of the caliber of men I've defeated here in XWA. Lionheart. Styles. Avenger. Fate. Hayden. Myers. Devlin. Men who will be, or HAVE BEEN World Champions. Men who have dominated in there own ways. But all men who fell short of my grace. *heh heh heh* My good man. IF I want the World Title, it's simply a matter of TAKING the World Title. But Platinum is the least of my concerns. Etching my name in the history books of being XWA's most DOMINANT ring general is my goal. A goal I don't think in you many, MANY years you've even attained. Simply put, I've proven my status by defeating and DESTROYING main eventers. You? You've "gotten by" by fighting mid carders, getting a lucky win here and there. I know you're way to stubborn to admit it, but the fact of the matter is I'm in my prime, whereas you're PAST yours.
An evil laugh follows as Jasta awaits his response.

"In your prime?"[/b]
An eyebrow merely arched from the Pure Champion.
"You know, when you reach my age, lying around retired due to suffering too many concussions, you'll be kicking yourself sharply every waking night for reaching your prime too early. Eventually you'll get kicked off the mountain for some other arrogant bastard whilst you wade your way through the trash, before it finally hits you square in the face."[/b]
A simple snort was followed afterwards.
"In my case, I've always taken it easy. Sure, I won the WCW World Title on two separate occasions, but those days are just memories. I was still slightly in my rookie years. But now? I haven't even touched my prime yet. It'll just be a matter of time before I remove the arrogant fuckers and make my way to wiping your ass across the mat. Hell, I'd even challenge you at Devil's Night, but unfortunately, I'm booked to defend my title against Nick Jones. I guess you'll be finding someone to toy with at that night as well, I assume?"[/b]

Jasta laughs.
At this rate, it doesn't matter WHO the line up to face me. They'll face the same outcome that Hayden & Fate faced. Picking themselves up off the floor after hearing my name announced in victory. It's funny how you say you're in your prime though. You're what, in your 40's? I've just hit 30 this year, and I'm in the best condition in my career. That must make you a late bloomer. I guess it's better to come into your own before you become to old to even throw a punch. But me? I'll still be THE best technical wrestler in the industry LONG after you've called it a career. Who knows, maybe the day you do so, I'll be the man to send you on your merry way. No...not maybe. I WILL be that man. That much I'll promise you. When the sun sets on your career, I'll be the man responsible for ending it. So enjoy the spoils of victory. Because there will come a day that one of us is no longer a champion. And when that day comes, you won't have to worry about finding me. I'll be finding you...

"Is that supposed to be a statement, or a threat?"[/b]
Short, but down to the point.

Jasta steps in close. With slanted eyes, he replies.
Neither. It's a PROMISE. And I've ALWAYS been a man of my word...
He steps back and gives Testudo one final glancing stare. He turns to take his leave...

"Hmph."
After the little confrontation with Jasta, Testudo proceeded to rest on the bench again, still exhausted from the successful defenses he went through.
