The seconds were ticking closer and closer to the beginning of the XWA's third season, and as could be expected at XWA Corporate HQ in New York, it was quite busy.
From marketing to talent scouting to dealing with payroll and contracts, everyone who was on the clock in the XWA fron office was on the job right now, and overseeing it all was Carmella Blackheart.
Not to say that she couldn't handle the workload of running a highly successful wrestling promotion in addition to her own corporate entity The Blackheart Foundation, but sitting at her desk going over memos and notes and all other kinds of corporate documentation, she wondered to herself even as the XWA was in it's off-season, would there ever actually be one for her?
Oh God, just for one day I would like to be able to relax and not have to think about business...
Seemingly on cue, the intercom on her desk beeped and the voice of her secretary chimed over the small speaker.
"Ms. Blackheart, you have a delivery out here."
Her eyebrow raised a bit in alarm...
A delivery? Has it been checked in by security?
"Yes ma'am. It's cleared...and it's kind of cute too!"
Cute? She thought to herself that the word cute was never one she used regularly, so that was enough of a cause for concern. Still she beckoned the delivery man into her office, and in his hands-both of them-was an extravagant crystal vase. It was trimmed with solid gold and filled with sweet smelling roses and carnations.
Wow. This is...impressive.
The deliveryman nodded in agreement as she signed his form to confirm delivery. Somebody really went out of their way to have this pleasantry that now sat on her desk brought to her. As the door to her office shut and she was alone, a rare moment of girlishness came over her. She took a single rose from her new vase and pressed it to her nose with a smile.
Sure enough, there was a card attached to the vase which she eventually caught an eye of. Opening it to see what it said, this was the message it displayed:
"The rose is the symbol of love. Let it be my symbol of the love I feel for you. Though the beauty of these flowers will only last for a short time, yours is eternal, and I look forward to the day I may have the chance to bask in it.
-A Secret Admirer"
Secret admirer? She wisked away a few strands of her long red hair and wondered what this was about. Vincent was not the type to think of something as lavish as this...as much as she tried to train him to be. Ruling out that possibility, she sat there with the realization now that somebody out there apparently had an admiration or infatuation with her.
She sat that one rose down on her desk. Who could this person be? Carmella figured to herself that sooner or later she was going to find out.
Now...I don't know whether to be excited or afraid...
