* How It Started: I began to wrestle my first year in university. I enjoyed the strategy and aggression so much that I have made it into my profession ever since, wrestling in tournaments, Vale Tudo and now the XWA.
* Gimmick: Quite simply put...I AM WRESTLING. In this industry of ego and spectacle, I am one of the few who focus on the purity of sport.
* Wrestling Style: I am the greatest pure grappler this or any company had ever seen. Will I throw you like a rag doll, or will I ground you and make you submit? The answer to either is yes.
* Gear/Outfit/Costume: I do not believe in over the top wrestling gear. Black tights, boots and elbow pads are sufficient for me.
* Titles Held: I am 5 time Grappler's World Grand Prix Champion and in 2008 I became an XWAPure Rules Champion.
* Biggest Win: That would be the night I won the Pure Title, and in doing became the first man in all of 2008 to defeat the reigning champion Kayn...ending the longest winning streak in the company's history.
* Worst Loss: Despite what some would say, the loss which has troubled and inspired me the most was the last one which I suffered to Jon Payne at XGAMES2. Truly, I have never been defeated in such a way before...even in the three straight losses I've suffered to Syrus The "Entertainer". It was an eye-opening experience.
* Favorite Type of Match: I am fond of Pure Rules. It is the ultimate showcase of skill. Only those who are completely prepared to endure and inflict non stop punishment can survive.
* Favorite Moves/Holds: The suplex, in all of it's variations, serves as my most potent of weapons. Also, using my strength as a catalyst, I utilize submission techniques quite effectively.
* Finisher: A Triple German Suplex. You could say it's a "flashy" manuever, but I say that it's my most devastating.
* Biggest Allies: In a singular existence as being a professional wrestler is, having allies or even friends is not a necessity...merely an option. Those who believe in "strength in numbers" are merely not strong enough to fend for themselves.
* Most Hated Enemies: Am I one of the few who are displeased by the mannerisms of Syrus? He is the antithesis of what I stand for...more interested in pandering to the fans than focusing on his opponent. His victories against me are truly a display of luck. I will show him what it means to be a champion yet.
* Favorite Wrestlers: One of the originators of the sport, my fellow countryman Karl Gotch. Much like him, I do not go easy on my adversaries.
* Wrestling Ambition: My ambition is to continue to demonstrate my dominance over the lesser wrestling talent of the XWA. The ones who believe that having the most clever one liners and catchphrases will make them into the best competitors in the world. Oh...so unwise.
Magnus's Personal Notes...
I have learned a great deal from my past encounter with Payne. I have learned that one can never be complacent with their skills, because there may very well be one who will surpass you. I have trained harder than I ever have in my 20 years in this sport for this upcoming season, and the fruits of my labor will show in ways that none could ever imagine a man of my age to do. Proof positive that when you focus your mind and body to a similar goal, you will emerge stronger in both.
XWA will see a new, more complete and more dangerous Magnus Von Schwartz in 2009 and granted the old one was capable of doing as much as it did, that should concern a lot of you very, very deeply.
Prepare yourselves for Magnus...and prepare...to be broken.
