* Height: 6'5"
* Weight: 240lbs
* Hair: Dark Brown
* Eyes: Black
* Hometown: Long Island, NY
* Age: 27
* Years In Wrestling: 6
* Theme Song: Three Days Grace - Just Like You (Theme sent with caw)
* How It Started: When I was a kid, I took up Karate and Judo, namely because my dad wanted me to be able to defend myself. Push came to shove and through one of the other students, I got hip to wrestling. His father ran a gym back on Long Island. So from 16-20 I'd train and wrestle at his gym. I got my 1st big break when a scout from Syndrome Wrestling Asylum was in attendance. He liked what he saw, SWA offered me a developmental contract, and that's where my professional career began.
* Gimmick: Back in SWA, they ran with the whole "Daredevil" gimmick. I'd come out with a similar mask to the comic character, but different enough to avoid legal crap from Marvel. Eventually they phased the mask out and I got to wrestle under my own name, but the Daredevil nickname stuck. It kinda fits, since I share many personal qualities with the super hero. I fight for what's right, stay true to my convictions, and I don't back down from a challenge, even if it means I'll get my ass handed to me.
* Wrestling Style: A hybrid of Karate, Judo and Japanese style wrestling.
* Gear/Outfit/Costume: I've worn all kinds of outfits in the ring, but they all share one thing, the color red. It's my trademark. This year I'm sporting a custom made singlet I had made during a recent tour in Japan.
* Titles Held: I've only held one title in my career, the SWA Man Of Steel Title. It was a real gimmicky belt that was defended only in Steel Cage matches. Just another bad idea by SWA Management. No wonder the place went under in two years. I'm still looking for my 1st XWA title run, but I'm in no rush. Titles don't make the man.
* Biggest Win: Back in 2007, towards the end of the season I reeled off three of the biggest wins of my career, beating in order Steven Higby, Draco Thanatos (Wonder what happened to him?) and Sabastien Gallas back to back to back. They'd spent the whole year pounding my brains in, so it felt good being able to get some vindication against them all.
* Worst Loss: My 2nd ever XWA match against Draco. He beat me like a dirty rug. To this day I've never forgotten that match. It's what drives me to be a stronger competitor. Never again will I bend to another's will in the ring.
* Favorite Type of Match: The X-Gen style of matches. This year's gonna be my 1st official foray into the division, but I love the fast paced, hard hitting style of it. It's a style of match fits me perfectly.
* Favorite Moves/Holds: I can't say I have a favorite. I love it all. I've got a pretty big arsenal of tricks, some I haven't used in a while. But 2009's my coming out year, so expect to see me pull out all the stops.
* Finisher: The Devil Driver, my version of the Death Valley Driver. When I hit it, game over.
* Biggest Allies: I try to be in good graces with everyone I meet, but at the top of the heap there's Ryan Fierhart, Kayn, Jimmy Ames and Dru Nedermeyer, who has become somewhat of a mentor to me.
* Most Hated Enemies: Scott O'Dell. While we've never met in the ring yet, we've exchanged words for the last two years. We're XWA employees #1 and #2, the 1st guys signed by the company, so obviously there's an underlining rivalry between us. I'll settle up with him soon enough.
* Favorite Wrestlers: I've been heavily influenced in my career by Puroesu. It's the in ring style I emulate most. So any of the Puro greats. Also, there's Dru and Simon Fierhart, two of the best to ever lace 'em up.
* Wrestling Ambition: To be riding on the LIR in 10 years and hear a pair of kids talking about wrestling and say "Adam Devlin was one of the best of all time."
Adam's Personal Notes...
I'm not the flashiest guy. I'm not the wittiest guy. I'm damn sure not the cutest. But what I am is the hardest working. While everyone else toots there own horn about how great they are, I stay humble. That's what separates me fro 80% of the entire XWA roster. I don't need to have the big money, titles and prestige. All I need is what I already have, the respect of the fans. They're the ones who matter most. If it wasn't for them, none of us would even be here. Some of the guys AND girls in the locker room should remember that. We all were fans once. We all were on the other side of the guard rail at one time in our lives. I haven't forgot what that feels like. So every time I step in that ring, I fight for the 14 year old kid who aspires to be on of us in the future. The people are my title. And I'll defend them to the bitter end.
