* Height: 6'6"
* Weight: 298lbs
* Hair: Blond
* Eyes: Blue-Gray
* Hometown: Los Angeles, CA.
* Age: 27
* Years In Wrestling: 4
* Theme Song: "Your Heroes Are Dead" By Porject 86 (Provided with CAW)
* How It Started: The year was 2003. I was fresh out of USC and looking for a new career. But there isn't much choice for a Collegiate All American, NCAA Title winning wrestler. It's not like there was a Wrestling Draft to declare for. There was only two options, MMA or Pro Wrestling. I decided on wrestling, hooked up with a local wrestling academy in Pasadena, and the rest as they say is history.
* Gimmick: Gimmick? I have none. What you see is what you get. Back when I was in the Indies, I was "Mr. Amazing". A tribute to one of my all time favorite wrestlers Paul Orndorff. I patterned my in ring style and persona after him, but after a few months in XWA, I decided it was best for my career to be myself. Works pretty well seein' as I'm a cocky, arrogant bastard by default. Can I help it if the camera loves me?
* Wrestling Style: I started wrestling when I was 10 years old. Not that backyard garbage. I'm talkin' Greco-Roman wrestling. Most kinds wanted to play Basketball, or football. Me, I wanted to wrestle. And over the years I got better and better at it. I've never been about that flashy crap. I'm about strong, fundamental wrestling. Helps also that I'm a Body Builder to. Gives me an edge in strength and Cardio.
* Gear/Outfit/Costume: Like I said before, I've never been about flash. Well...maybe out of the ring. But in the ring, I like my wrestling to shine above all things. So my ring gear is pretty cut & dry. Tights, wrist tape, Kneepads, boots. Simple. I get my trunks custom made by a Tailor I dated in college. Still good friends with her, and she runs her on clothing store San Fran these days.
* Titles Held: I held a few titles in the indies, but the one that stands out the most is of course the XWA Title. I'll go down in history as being the 1st XWA Champion. Sure there've been plenty of others since, but I was number one. And bet your ass I'll be champion again.
* Biggest Win: That would have to definitely be ONESHOT. After a small scuffle in a Miami night club following a PPV, I got stripped of the World Title on live TV the next show. You wanna talk about embarrassing? Probably one of the most humiliating moments in my career. But everyone in the world was doing back flips because I was no longer champion. Jon Payne ended up the champ after the dust settled, but then he went through his much publicized divorce with his wife, and couldn't keep his obligations as champ. So the title ended up vacated again. 6 Men would go into battle to become champ. And no less then a month after being stripped, I was World Champ again. Proving once and for all that I'm as good as advertised.
* Worst Loss: That damned Fight To The Finish match. Like I've said before when asked, I give Syrus Sykes credit for stepping his game up, but the next time we meet, and there will be a next time...it'll be on my terms, in my match. We'll see how he fairs when it's me and him, one on one, and the winner is declared by who's the better wrestler, not the better "Entertainer".
* Favorite Type of Match: That'd have to be my specialty match, Submissions. I pride myself on being a skilled submission wrestler. You look at me at 1st glance and thing I'm all power, but that's only 1/4 of my game. While everyone and their mommas wanna have Kung Fu Grip or do Springboard Moonsaults all day, I'm old school. If I get you on the mat, you're gonna tap. Simple as that.
* Favorite Moves/Holds: I've got a lot of favorite moves, but the one I love most would have to be the good ol' Scoop Slam. Lift a guy off his feet, hold him in the air and let him ponder what he's done to end up like this, and BAM!!! Drop him back first onto the mat. The sound it makes is music to my ears. Sometimes I'll delay it, play to crowd some, and launch the poor shmuck across the ring. Just a show of strength. Another one I like is the standing Full Nelson Hold. I can get some hefty leverage going, just sink my arms in, clasp my hands together and squeeze until the tendons in the other guys neck are about to burst.
* Finisher: I've had a few over the years. The Alabama Slam. The Michinoku Driver. 3/4 Facelock Neckbreaker. But by far my fave is my new toy in 2009, "The Franchiser". It's a tribute to Ron Simmon's Dominator, but instead of just lifting them into i Highjack position, I get the guy up in the air in a Crucifix and THEN flip them over. Yea, I'm gonna crush a lot of rib cages and egos with this one.
* Biggest Allies: Without a doubt that's Osiris Alston. We've traveled the globe together. He's had a lot of personal demons he's dealt with in the last two years, but he's without a doubt the best wrestler in XWA not to have held a title yet. The potential is there, he just needs to push himself harder. But we're both going to step the ol' game up in 2009. Just wait and see what we have in store for XWA.
* Most Hated Enemies: Who ISN'T an enemy of mines? I'm not "The Man You Love To Hate" for my health. That's just how it is when you're at the top of your game. Everyone beneath you hates on you. But if I had to name names, I'd come up with two. Ryan Fierhart & Adam Devlin. We all came into XWA at the same time, and it's well documented the history between me and Ryan. As for Adam, we've had our words and taken our shots. Bet your ass We'll be taking it into the ring in 2009. That boyscout needs a new merit badge, the "I Got Franchised" badge.
* Favorite Wrestlers: Like I said before, Paul Orndorf was my favorite wrestler growing up. He was just a raw, physical powerhouse. The kind of wrestler you loved watching because he never pulled his punches. He hit you full force, and every move had intent to do pain. That's who I do things myself. Leave no doubt in the other guy's mind that he's in for a long night.
* Wrestling Ambition: Isn't it obvious? To go down in history as one of the greatest technical wrestlers in history. A wise man once said "A man is only as strong as the legacy he leaves behind." When I hang up my boots, there's going to be no doubts in anyone's mind that as far as American born wrestlers of my style, I was the best to ever lace 'em up.
Scott O'Dell's Personal Notes...
Some people think I'm a "bad guy". Not the case. I'm not one of these jumps playing a bad guy on TV. I am who I am. And who I am is just generally not a very likeable person. I've said it a thousand times, I'm an ass. When you spend your life being hated on because you're a talented athlete, you get sick of people talking behind your back and wishing for your downfall. There's a lot of haters in the game, and lord knows I have my fair share. But to all of you pussies out there still riding my coat tails, hang on tight. 2009's gonna be one hell of a year. You're just mad because while you talk your smack, I talk it better AND back it up. And even when I don't back it up, I'm still better then you because beating me is a career making move. I've earned that status. What have you earned lately?
I arrest my case.
