Carmella Blackheart. The President & CEO of the Xtraordinary Wrestling Association as well as The Blackheart Corporation. The most powerful corporate entity in the wrestling industry today and possibly in any form of business, but contrary to what most may know of her, she's not all business.
Carmella was born and raised much of her life in Spain. Her parents- a woman native to the country named Isabella and Raymond Blackheart, the patriarch of the Blackheart Corporation. Carmella was educated well growing up with them, learning much about business from her father and much about being a good woman by her mother. When she turned 18 years old is when she was absorbed into her father's corporation, sowing the seeds that would lead to her soon becoming the head of it upon his death.
Before this, she learned some disturbing things about him. First, despite his affection for his only child, Raymond Blackheart had in fact desired to have a son to take over his life's work. It partially disheartened Carmella to know this, but her pure determination soldiered her on to make TBC even more profitable than ever. This led to her learning something else...a secret investment her father had been bankrolling for years, an underground league of illegal fights that operated around the world.
Raymond himself was an avid martial artist, and the desire passed down to his daughter as Carmella too studied many fighting arts. This is why the fact that he held many underground tournaments for profit had intrigued her so much, to the point where she herself continued to fund these contests. Fighters from around the world would come to compete in these bloodsports, but it was the emergence of one that would soon change her life forever.
That one man went by the nickname of "Riot". A masked marauder who was bent on a violent path that crushed all who stood in his way. She sensed his tormented soul and was actually the first person-in a chance encounter-to see the man underneath the fabled mask. The moment in question was at a fight in Las Vegas when he was seriously beaten in a battle despite being victorious. Even with the medical staff on hand, he refused help and tended to heavy bleeding from his head on his own, secluding himself into a boiler room to remove his blood soaked mask. Out of curiosity, Carmella followed him and became the first to see the somber face of Vincent Fate, a man who at the time believed that his family were all dead. His entire mission was to find those responsible and punish them.
Carmella's motherly instinct took over, and she herself stitched the man back to normal. At that moment, a bond was made between them. Through that random act of kindness, the man who hated everything realized that there still may be hope for feeling love in his heart. She promised to help him find those who were responsible for his misfortune, but several days later...those individuals would find them.
The sworn enemy of Riot's from his days before the mask (a story in and of itself to be told another day) was a crime lord named Parris Silver, who had been a close associate of Raymond Blackheart for years. After learning that his daughter was helping Riot, he took action and had an attempt at her life take place during a tournament. A gunshot wound left her hospitalized for several months, leading Riot deeper down a path of revenge. She recovered in time to learn that he had finally been able to track Silver down and a bloody battle was about to happen.
By the time she reached the location, the fight was over. Silver was dead and Riot was close to being there himself. Once again, she took him and nursed him back to health while the authorities searched for him. It was then that she would truly learn how deep her father's ties ran. The FBI had located the safehouse she kept him in as he healed...but it was not to apprehend him. An investigator handed her a case file that chronologically covered Riot's professional career so to speak, and then left. It was repayment to her father so to speak for all of the resources he had invested in the bureau and the nation's security. With it in her hands, Riot was given a clean slate, and thus went down the further path that made him into a wrestling legend-"The King".
But what of Carmella during that time? For starters, she no longer carried on the tournaments her father held, focusing her company's resources on other endeavors. She returned to Spain for a time to spend time with her mother during her last months of life. Then in 2006 she learned that Vincent Fate was actually starting a new wrestling promotion.
For the first time in years, they were together again. She became the GM to one of the two brands of the company, all the while rekindling her feelings towards a much more extroverted, changed man. The romance between them, and a lot of other things were put on hold when the company folded early the next year. Fate had disappeared and Carmella felt the most guilty about it all, thinking it was a lack of authority shown to a group of overblown egos that led to the company's demise. That was when she made the promise-to herself and to the love of her life-to make things right.
So began the XWA. After announcing the opening of this new promotion, she would soon gain more financial backing from Gallas Global Enterprises and in one year's time the league stood above and beyond all others as the premiere wrestling company in the world.
Over that time, Fate returned as well and they've remained together ever since. Meanwhile, Carmella herself had chosen to run things in the background and let the talent of the XWA be it's face, not hers...but you know that when she does show hers that something big is going to happen.
