Not the first female I've made on a wrestling game, but the first one I posted ever way back on the old CAWS.ws forum. She has evolved into one of my favorites though, namely because of the way I've able to develop other characters (namely Amber) through her, and just the way that I've designed her-which is to be a strong woman both in mind, body (especially, lol) and spirit.
Q&A with "The Golden Goddess"
Where and when were you born? Washington, DC.
What is your profession? A professional wrestler, commissioner of the XWA Diamond Division and mother of 3 dogs, 2 cats, and one hermit crab.
What kind of activities/sports did you do before you started wrestling? I got into weightlifting when I was about 17 years old.
What kind of activities/sports did you do before you started lifting
weights? I was never really into sports at all. I was the kid who didn't want to dress out in P.E. class. hehehehe! That's why I started lifting weights instead...because I wasn't good at sports.
How and when did you get involved into lifting weights? I first stepped into a gym when I was 18 because I didn't want to let myself get over weight but I knew I was to young to go on a diet. It also gave me something to do after school. It was tough at first, but the next thing you know it was months later and my body was really beginning to change.
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body? Well, when I first joined the gym bodybuilding was the last thing on my mind. As luck would have it, it just so happens that I joined a gym where the REAL bodybuilders worked out! Then the rest was history! So I guess you can say I was in the right hands.
What was your first competition and how did you place? My first show was be in Houston, TX on Nov. 13, 2002. I placed second there. Not bad at all for it being my first competition. I was hooked from that point on. I pushed myself physically to limits that some would have thought was crazy. By the time my second competition came around though, I was in first place, and that's where things picked up from there.
How long did you compete in those competitions before you got into wrestling? About 3 or 4 years actually. I was 22 and winning lots of competition through my work ethic and discipline in the gym when all of a sudden a promoter approached me about trying out pro wrestling. It was obvious that I was physically capable for it, all I needed was the training.
Where did you train to wrestle then? It was a small wrestling academy in DC. I was one of 15 people who joined the class and the only woman as well. The guys were a little intimidated because of my size. I had already been bodybuilding for a while, so I wasn't actually petite.
When was your first wrestling match? It was in 2004. I had just signed on with the World Wrestling Alliance's brand new women's division and they booked me into a match against a girl named Beatrix Dazzler. She tried to make fun of the fact that I was a big girl with muscles, but by the end of the match she had changed her tune a little.
Who would you say is your greatest rival in wrestling? That's easy. It would have to be Tadako Anenokoji. From the very first time that I faced her I knew that I had to push my training even harder if I was going to beat her. I even did some training in Japan after wrestling her a few times so that I could get an idea of how she worked in the ring. She's like...a machine.
Please describe a typical day in the life of Sarah Warfield. I wake up, let the dogs out then feed them, then I check my emails, do my cardio. Right after I'm done with my cardio I eat breakfast, shower, get dressed for the gym, go back and forth to the computer, leave for the gym, then head to work when I'm done with my training. After that I may hang out, or just head straight home. When I get back home I clean the house a bit, sit at the computer again, play with the dogs, have dinner then I'll get ready for bed, go to bed and fall asleep with the T.V. on.
Please tell me something about your daily training routine. I always do around 15 minutes of cardio to warm up, followed by about an hour of weight training and two hours of wrestling training.
How often do you train in a week? 6 days a week when.
What are the main differences when you train for competition and in off-season? Nothing really...only my diet. I tend to cheat a little then. Have some of Amber's pasta. Wow, can she cook!
If you don't mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?
Some of my stats are
Age - 29
B Day - 11/12/79
Eye Color - Hazel
Years Training (for wrestling and bodybuilding) - 11 yrs.
Favorite Color - Gold
Current weight - 162 lbs.
Current measurements:
Arm - 15"
Calf - 17"
Quad/Ham - 24"
Chest/Back - 42DD
What bodypart is your best in your opinion? I would have to say my legs because they grow so easily. They're 24" around at the belly of my hamstrings. A lot of people still think that when you try to build strength it's all about the arms and the chest and the back, but they neglect working their legs. That's your base there, it's where power and leverage generates when lifting, so I've worked them harder than the rest of my body because of it.
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don't like so much? I would have to say squats because I can use really heavy weight for deep reps. A typical squat routine would have me doing 225lbs. for 12-15 reps (butt to heels) followed by 275lbs. for 6-8reps, then 315lbs. for a double or triple. This of course isn't all I do for legs...only squats. I think it's so funny when I send men away from the squat rack because I'm out squatting them!
So what do you do for fun? I love sitting behind my computer, answering emails, reading, and being with my friends and family, especially Amber. She's like the little sister I never had.
What are your future plans for 2009? Just being the best bodybuilder I can be without compromising any femininity whatsoever, doing what I can to help improve the Diamond Division and competing in the ring whenever possible. I was also thinking I might get back into the bodybuilding competitions as well. Amber has gotten be back in the mood of showing off what I've got.
