Down to the wire it came. A match that was every bit as brutal, every bit as amazing as advertised. The Devil's Playground Match. It had it's moments of oohs, aahs and ohhhs. XXL leaping from the top of a pod to spear Pollox Troy. Nathan Browne nearly outlasting everyone after being one of the first men in. The shining moment-at least in one man's mind-came in the final three seconds.
Those were the three seconds that Robby Sylk gained redemption from losing the XWA Title from the very man who beat him for it. The three seconds it took for him to regain that title, and the three seconds it took for him to make history.
"The winner of the 2008 Devil's Playground...and NEW XWA World Champion...The GOLD* Robby Sylk!!!"
As the hellish structure raised and the referee handed him the coveted title of titles, Robby wasn't even paying attention to whether the fans booed the fact that XXL was no longer the champion. All that mattered to him now was that he was, and that now it was next stop Last Dance at XGAMES2.
He was cockier than ever before. He smiled under the crimson mask on his face. He totally ignored the medics trying to tend to him. Nothing but a cocky grin from ear to ear was on his face as he held that title belt for the second time in the 2008 season. This one though was even more significant than the first, and soon...really soon, he was going to let everyone know it.
Buzz: Robby Sylk's done it again! Now a two time XWA World Champion, and the stage is now set for the Last Dance!
Roach: He survived hell, that's for sure. He pinned a game former champion XXL and earns the title yet again after one of the most brutal matches we've ever witnessed! Devil's Night 08 will go down in history as a night that blood flowed like water. The Crimson Tide match and this Devil's Playground which had to have taken something from these men's souls...not just their bodies.
In the end though, Robby Sylk triumphs, and it'll be him, Tommy Tryton the War General of WarGames 2008, Syrus The Entertainer-2008's Soul Survivor and "The Franchise" Scott O'Dell-the strongest of the OTS 2008 Tournament, winner take all!
