*Backstage* The time ? Is 10:20 pm. Time for Brandon Payne, and the others partipants to make there way to the Chamber. Payne walks out of his locker room. Closing the door firmly behind him. Looking down at his fists afterwards as he utters under his breath:
Alright fists... don't fail me now.
Payne knew in his mind. This was it. He had to make a stand right here and now that he could be a legnimate contender for the World Title. Not just on this night, but for the next few years to come. Whether or not he came out the World Heavyweight Champion once the final bell rings was going to be left into the hands of the man upstairs. His second primary goal was to prove to the world, and to his XWA peers that he was more then another 'flash in the pan', he was going to be one of those guys that was going to help lead the XWA into the next millenium. Because with every fiber in his being. Payne was going to do whatever he could do to help make sure that XWA stayed successful for years to come.
But for tonight.
That would not be his main objective. As for tonight here at Devil's Night. He was all business, and ready to win himself another World Championship. He didn't care about how the odds were stacked against him. As Payne saw himself as one of those guys that could defy all odds and defeat anything that was deemed 'unbeatable'.
Payne walks down the hallway, as he is about to turn to walk towards the 'gorilla position' backstage, he is greeted by one of the other participants in the match.

It was Pollox. He takes and unimpressed look at Payne before speaking up.
Look at what we have here. One of the underdogs. I say this of course because mathematically, you've got about as much a chance of winning as well...I don't think I need to explain the numbers to you. But in a match like this, that's what it boils down to. Numbers. Calculations. The man who comes out of this building World Champion won't be the toughest, or the strongest, or even the most technically skilled. It'll be the smartest man in that contraption. And seeing as I have more in ring experience as far as years in the game then the rest of the field combined, I'm really...reeeeeeeeeeeally liking my chances tonight.
He chuckles, grins and waits for the impending response.

Brandon smirks as he replies:
*Hmph* Math ? Calculations ? Experience ? What is this, fuckin' Algebra !? Get over yourself, lil man. You can take all of that experience you have and multiple it by the success that I have had in this wrestling business over the last three years ? And what do you get ? A soon-to-be future XWA World Heavyweight Champion, Brandon Payne !
Mixed reaction from the crowd.
But then again..
On the other hand. In a way, you are correct. The person who wins this match tonight. Won't be the most toughest man in the business. He won't the most technically sound, or the baddest man on the planet.
He will be....a Wrestling Elite !
Payne with a big smile on his face, points to himself with a big cocky-ass smirk on his face. The fans watch the situation unfold from the arena on the big titantron. Erupting into a big mixture of cheers and boo's.
Because lets face it, Pollox. As great of an athlete you claim to be ? When it comes down to the very end. When all you have left to do is defeat your opponent ? When you are just so close to putting away your oppoent for that final 3 count ? You do what you do best, my friend.
You CHOKE !
Payne folds his arms, looking very confident despite everything being against him tonight. He looks as ready and as eager as ever to come out on top as the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Nate walks towards the two as Pollox is finishing, holding a bottle of water.
Really? So your greatest advantage is also your greatest disadvantage. You've stacked up more ring knowledge than me and the other contestants combined from your many years of wrestling, but you're becoming old and old joints are no longer useful in the wrestling business. Me? I'm young, I'm flexible. It'll take a LOT of wrenching to make me tap, where you may not be so much. Get what I'm saying? This may be a mental game, but if you're not up to it physically, you might as well count yourself out.

In the locker room, "Wild Thing" James Bowen stretches and does some shadow kickboxing, in order to get prepared for his match with his tag team partner, Da King Cobra.
James: Owww! Am I ready tonight? Oh, yeah. This match is going to be the most fun I have in years. And when the night is over, me and the Cobra are going after the Tag Team gold.
