Sushi-X paced around the backstage area, barely able to sit for the last few minutes. He knew soon enough, he was going into the match of his life, a ladder match with MG for what essentially amounts to his freedom. The promo package played at the season finale played in his head over and over. From hotshot newcomer to secret weapon to outcast to vigilante. The Chicago ninja ran the gamut of emotions throughout his rookie season, with barely any knowledge that MG had held him hostage legally since he joined TNN. Revenge was on his mind, as was his freedom. He was quickly snapped out of those thoughts when he heard a knock on his locker room door. It was Fabiola and a cameraman. Sushi-X opened the door only slightly as to not let any unwanted company inside before giving the okay.
Who's there?
It's Fabiola. Can I have just a moment of your time?
Sushi-X thought for a moment, then gave the okay for Fabiola and her cameraman buddy to enter. He then retreated to the bench where moments ago, he dressed for his match.
I'm sure you have a lot of questions on your mind, so go ahead and ask away.
Actually, I have only a couple because I know you're very busy. Let me ask you. After your loss to Steve Toreno last week on Takedown, are you ready for your match tonight?
Fabiola pointed the microphone in the ninja's direction. Sushi-X could only smile before he spoke.
Am I ready? Am I READY? I've never been more ready in my life! Yeah, I got caught looking ahead. Steve Toreno put on a hell of a match and he beat me fair and square. I learned one of the most valuable lessons in sports: never look further down than what's in front of you. And now, I have nothing in front of me...other than YOU, MG. I'm gonna be a man and tell you that as an in-ring competitor, I respect you. As a person, on the other hand, huh. I'd rather spit on the ground you walk on. I know you can't wait to get your hands on me, and personally, I can't wait to tear you limb from limb either. Then, once I give you the Sushi Driver... or when I show you what Weapon X is... or whether I just take the ladder and beat your body mercilessly, when I climb that ladder, the one thing you'll remember from this night is this: ME GRABBING THE BRIEFCASE. STANDING TRIUMPHANT. OVER A FALLEN.... YOU.
And should you lose tonight?
He paused for a moment, then snickered at the thought of him losing.
Fair question, Fabiola. We’ll deal with that when we get there. But I'm not losing.
Sushi-X promptly got up from the bench and left the locker room.
