Toni Phillups stands backstage at Devil's Night with the XWA Sapphire Champions Ina Morifuji & Bull Nagano. The subject of the interview was their title defense tonight against the unlikely team of Sayuri Irabu and Sara Beck.
Ina. Bull. Tonight, the two of you are slated to defend the XWA Sapphire Titles against...
SILENCE!!!
Allow me to address two things. The first thing being words spoken by one of the former champions, one Hayley Jonas. A few weeks ago she was quoted as saying...what was it? "I wasn't beat for the titles." You competed in the match, and you were on the losing team. That I think means that you LOST the match, does it not? You didn't meet the conditions of victory, which I think even here in America they call...a loss. Whereas we met the conditions of victory in kind. Both members of said team, escaping the Steel Cage. Now if you need to fool yourself or tell yourself those lies that you spewed three weeks ago to make yourself feel better, go right ahead. But the end all is that in the record books it will state that The Diamond Devil's were defeated by Ina Morifuji & Bull Nagano. Not Kim Hunter was defeated. The Diamond Devils. BOTH of you. End of story.
Now that that's off of my chest, we move to more important things. Sayuri and Sara Beck. Two women who have banded together for whatever reason to challenge us. And two women who as we demonstrated in the 1st show of the month are in no way even close to our level. We dominated the two of you one on one. So imagine what we'll do tonight when the two of you face us as a team? Bull and I have been partners in the ring for over six years. The two of you have only Tag Team match together under your belts, a Tornado Tag at that. It's not much of a match up, is it ladies? And as per us winning both matches, we set that table for what match is to be had. And oh what a choice we have.
With a puzzled look, Toni inquires.
Sooooooooooo...what kind of match is it going to be?
A little something that we've brought over from Japan that we call the "Double Impact" Tag Match. Allow me to explain the rules. Two of us start in the ring. One on one. One fall to a finish. Then, the next two get in the ring. Same rules apply. If one team secures both falls, they win the match, and in this case, the Sapphire Titles. But if the falls are split, then the match goes to "Sudden Death"...A Tornado Tag match. The team that wins there, wins the match. But judging from our last experience against the two of them, I doubt we need to worry about the match going that far. That's what kind of match it will be. I only hope the unlike some "competitors"...they're up to the task in action, and not in words.
Ina looks to Bull, then walks off. The camera stays on Bull as she scowls at Toni, the continues on behind Ina's departure.
