Following a previous segment, Saliva's "F All Yall" hits the PA, and the fans right on cue broke into a chorus of boos. Scott steps out into the Toyota Center with a dissatisfied smirk on his face. As he makes his way down to the ring, Tony and Willy offer their insight on the latest goings on in the world of "The Franchise".
Tony: Scott doesn't look all that happy, does he? And rightly so, Syrus The Entertainer has had his number lately.
Willy: Syrus' been puttin' it down and droppin' it like it's hot, baby. Scotty mighta' met his match.
Scott enters the ring, calls for a mic, and begins.
If there's one thing I've learned fast in this business, it's that the mark of being sucessful isn't in how many times you win, it's in how you carry yourself when you lose. And contrary to most beliefs, I'm a gracious loser. Because for a man to beat me, he has to be at the top of the TOP of his game. And Syrus, you're exactly that. I don't know what's in that Pimp Jiuce you sip backstage, but it works for you. And there's no disputing the fact that last week, one on one, you beat me. Fair and square, dead center in the ring, you got the 1-2-3.
Everyone in the arena was surprised by how Scott opened things up. What didn't surprise was the follow-up.
BUT,*Heheheh* I also know that one match doesn't define a god damn thing. And if your as much of the hot shot you think you are, you know the same thing. All it proves is on that one night, you were the better man. And I'll admit, I overlooked you as a viable challenger. I should have known better, and that's a mistake I don't plan on making again. But truth be told, you could beat me five times in a row and it wouldn't matter. Right now, there's only one match that does. The Last Dance. Because I could lose to you tonight. But what difference does it make if say I go on and pin you to eliminate you from The Dance, eh? And vice-versa for you if you end up eliminating me. Or if Tryton takes one of us out, or if who ever survives The Devil's Playground goes on and does the same at X-Games. That's the beauty of The Dance, it's as unpredictable as a title match can get. It all boils down not to has the most skill, or who's the fastest, or the most technical. It all comes down to who can rise to the occasion. And like I said earlier, on any given night it could be anyone.
Scott paces about the ring some as he adds...
But X-Games is still three weeks away. And tonight is here and now. The way I see the score it's 1-0. 2-0 if you wanna be anal and count the tag match we had, but I look at my match-ups one on one. And the only thing I see standing in between us tonight is air and opportunity. But this time around, I'm making the call. Tonight, we're going to do something that I know you're gonna like. I'm calling you out Syrus. And I'm calling you out, to a FIGHT TO THE FINISH match.
It was as unlikely a challenge as one could expect from Scott. As the fans cheer on the prospect, Scott concludes...
Now in case any of you have forgot what a Fight To The Finish match is, it's a 20 Minute match where the winner is declared not by pinfall, or submission, or DQ, Count out or any other conventional means of victory. The winner in a Fight To The Finish match is the superstar who can hit his or her finisher more times then the opponent in that 20 minute time span. That's how it's goin' down tonight, Sykes.
With his challenge laid out, Scott awaits the arrival of Syrus.
