This will also be erected into rule for 2009, but I'll shed some light on the guidelines for specialty matches in the new season. Specialty matches are only granted for long standing feuds that go longer then the typical 3 shows for a month. The longer your feud, the bigger matches you'll be able to get. A standard feud (3 Shows) can have it's climax with either a Steel Cage, Last Man Standing or Falls Count Anywhere (Hardcore). Anything past the typical 6 shows can climax in any of those matches as well as the more brutal 1st Blood match and the Backstage Brawl. This is to promote the all important realism in the league, as there's no Steel Cage matches every show in RL wrestling, and so to will that be true for XWA.
As for the new specialty match, The Inferno Match, as well as the XWA exclusive "Hacked" Specialties such as Hell Asylum (Formerly The Thunderdome Match) there will be STRICT and STRINGENT criteria for that match.
1. Your feud MUST go past 8 shows, NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. Do to the barbaric and violent nature of these match types, the loser of the match must "Be out of action" for at least 2 shows after. Because there's no way a human being can recover from this level of a pounding in said matches within just a week's time. (Example: Following the Thunderdome match between Dru Nedermeyer and Bryan Jasta, the characters we shelved for a full month as to show "realism", but they remained active IC.) You don't have to full shelve you character, they just can't compete for two shows so that they can "recover".
These "Extreme Specialty" matches are saved for the best of the best of XWA storylines, so you may only see 1 or 2 of them the whole season, which is realistic. And in order to have these matches available to you, you need to put the work in to carry your feud/angle beyond 2 months of the season.
As stated at the top, this will be amended into the 2009 Match Stips rules and revised as 3X and I deem fit.
