As of today, PAL Hacks are available for the game. This means that NTSC hacks will not be that far off. As such, 3X and I will be applying said hacks to all caws sent in for the 2009 season. The bad part? We have to input each hack for each caw individually. And that's a LOT of hacks. Stats we'll be using the same numbers as we did for 2008. Abilities on the other hand is going to be the meat of the process. So what will be done is in your 209 profile, you will be REQUIRED to list the 6 abilities you wish your character to have, so that we can apply those abilities to your caw. There will also and OBVIOUSLY be NO EDITING OF ABILITIES. What you choose at the start of the year are your abilities for the whole season, because we will NOT be hacking caws over every month. If you by chance have your own save device, you can pretty much hack your own guys/girls, so you're exempt from this.
Next up, there's the issue of moves. Now you are not obligated to have a created finisher. In fact, I know that the vast majority of people will probably NOT be using CAFs. This is completely optional. What isn't optional or even up for debate is the move limits from 2008. With the addition of Signature moves as well as finisher, this means that you have way more options. However, your options are limited to that of whats available. Going into 2009, the only moves that are "on reserve" are your moves from 2008. Whatever moves are uses as a person's finisher can NOT be used as another person's signature.
Example: Person A lists one of his signatures as the 99 Crusher. The 99 Crusher is as of 2008 the finisher still of Kris Cade. So unless Cade decides to use another move or a CAF as his 09 finisher, no one can have the 99 Crusher as a signature. Male OR Female. Which pretty much promotes the fact that you're going to have to be creative and realistic with your signature moves. There's a CRAPLOAD of moves to choose from, so if you're having to use a move that's typically a finisher used move, you need to re-think you 2009 strategy. As for finisher, Everyone by default retains the rights to the move they have in 2008 for 2009 unless stated by the user. The share move policy of this season will remain in tact for those who choose to stay with standard finishers.
On the subject of CAFs, there is NO Copy CAF option in the Save Data Manager in options, which means that the CAW staff will have to create every CAF in XWA and apply them to your caw. For those using CAFs you will be required to list the formula of your finisher in the 2009 Signature & Finisher thread. BE SPECIFIC. Make sure you have your animations and speeds exact, because we do not want to hear "My move is all wrong". If it is, it's because you didn't list the info as it should be listed. Any editing of your CAF will count as a edit just like any other part of your caw, and of course is subject to the monthly editing restrictions put forth in 2008.
As more is decided upon, it'll be posted here by myself and/or 3X.
