She knew she had to take the opportunity into her own hands this time. She knew that Sonya had to have been slowed down by the toss into the turnpost. She came out slow, and Amber tackled her dow with every ounce of strength in her body, and as she covered Sonya Robbins, a proud fighting champion in her own right, she knew it was only three seconds until the greatest moment of her wrestling career thus far.
Three.
Long.
Seconds.
But that was what it took. Sonya didn't have enough to kick out, and then that's when it was official.
"Your winner...and the NEW XWAPearl Champion...Amber Gianni!!!"
The referee was handed the Pearl Title, and he in turned presented it to Amber who was still on her knees, catching her breath after what was an expectedly physical match, but you could see that she was totally enamored at the fact that she could finally be called a champion.
The smile on her face at that point was all the evidence that you needed to be sure. Amber fought off tears of joy, but what was the point? This was something special, so there was no need to hold anything back. She hugged that title close to her like it was a newborn baby. She gazed intimately at the faceplate and still it hadn't fully registered to her that she had this title in her hands.
A hand suddenly reached for her shoulder, and she turned around just a bit to see to her surprise that it was the former champion...

Sonya was huffing and puffing just as heavy. Even moreso in fact, having just had the wind literally knocked out of her by a wicked spear. Didn't know Amber had that in her. Still, Sonya had the wherewithall after an intense battle to roll up to her knees and meet the new champion in the center of the ring, both of them rolled up close to each other like you'd see two mixed martial artists do after they go the distance.
Sonya could see the jubilation on the face and in the eyes of Amber has she held that title to her, a title that up until that point Sonya was almost getting used to holding, but not anymore. Not tonight at least. Still, she didn't feel sad at losing, she was happy in fact. Happy for Amber as she rested her weary arm on the woman's shoulder.
You're a pitbull in your own right Amber. Congratulations, girl...
