Words of a Goddess (DN Promo, O2those in)

In a night chock full of promos and point and counter points abound, what would it be without the XWA's most outspoken Diamond without having something to say of her own. As the season finale continued, there she stood backstage with a camera in front of her a few minutes to speak her mind.

This will be entertaining...

Last week, I pinned the current Diamond Champion and XWA Darling Jamie Fury in a triple threat match. Last week, even more imprtant than that, I made a statement loud and clear. The so-called Diamond Dominator might be a force to be reckoned with, but sometimes Jaime...just sometimes...your going to find yourself in situations that aren't to your advantage.That's all part of being at the top spot, and I can say with a straight face that there are only two, count 'em, two ladies going into Devil's Night who deserve that spot. You...and me.

I'm looking at all the other girls in this match who're all just filling up spots not to make this a one-on-one match, and I think to myself exactly who do they think they're kidding? Like anyone of them deserve to walk into XGAMES 2 as Diamond Champion? Two underdogs, one sob story, and one sad, sad case of a woman who can never and will never get herself out of second place...and then you have you Jamie-the woman who took this place by storm in one year, holding two belts and winning match after match.

Then of course...there's me!

Diamond Champion for three months. The woman who walked out of ID08 with the belt still in her possession. Who cares if I didn't beat Alundra Jade that night, I did beat her the next night though, and the night when the belt was on the line. That's about when all the talking about my tits or my ass stopped, didn't it? Uh-huh...because that's when you all realized that insults to me are like saying Jordan can't dunk on you.

I gave the whole Diamond Division a facial in a few month's time...and a big, sticky one at that. The only woman who could possibly have stolen my thunder did just that, but I'm taking back what's mines Jamie. Devil's Night that belt comes back to where it belongs, in the hands of the woman who defines what attitude is, rather than just having one like some of the rest of these "ladies" we have assembled here.

Now, I don't even have to SAY I'm better than more than half of you there, my resume speaks for itself. But wait, I just did say I was better than more than half of you didn't I? Oh well...message sent, right? I've been going easy on most of the little girls skipping around here though, because I don't want to hurt too many people's egos by spitting on them...but you know, some of you out there on the second tier are reaaaaaaalllllly beginning to test my patience.

Hmph, maybe some other time though. Because while you're all talking about who and how great you are and what you mean to wrestling and blah, blah, blah...I've got business to care of tonight that culminates in me becoming the best female wrestler in the XWA for the SECOND TIME.

You can talk to me when you can call yourself that much at least once. That's just some friendly words of advice to you all there from the Goddess who is looking down on all you common folk, and laughing.

Now, it was Alexis turn for some promo time this night, talking about Devil's Night and beyond. Her words were more of a declaration, not only to the XWA Diamonds, but to herself as well.

What is a champion? It's the top spot. The pinnacle of athletic performance. The best there is in that whole place.

That's something that a lot of athletes can never achieve, but at the same time something that every athlete competes for. Some only get one chance, some find themselves with many chances. Where it is that I fit in that, I couldn't tell you right now.

I heard what Channelle said earlier, and to be honest, I don't see anything egotistical in it. She's been at the top, and when you've gotten there you have the right to have a litter swagger...even if you are an enema bag doing it. That's a place that I'm on a steady climb to get to here in the XWA though, the top.

That's the reason why anyone joins here, because of the chance to prove that you are the best of the best...and the best of the best in women's wrestling today all happen to be Diamonds. Ashley Diamond. Heather Fierhart. Amber Gianni. These are names that have become embedded into what it is to be a woman in pro wrestling today...and this year names like Jamie Fury and Sonya Robbins and yes, even Channelle herself have in their own way added their names to that list.

That's not something that happens overnight. It will takes months of commitment and competition to get to that point. I can only speak for me when I say that I'm more committed now than I've ever been about anything else in my life. Devil's Night is not going to be my quick fix to the top "tier" of the XWA...because I still have something to prove to all of the fans, and to myself.

At Devil's Night, that will be my biggest chance to make that one impression that will make everyone at the very least say that I'm a star that's on the rise and not just another flash in the pan who has to talk to get attention. No matter which order I take tonight, that's a priority for me at DN. To show the world that I can be as good as the best and better than the rest. Am I there yet? No...but by the end of Devil's Night I'll know how far I'll have to climb to get there.

That's all that matters to Alexis Valentine. Everything else is just details.

Later on in the show, there was Jamie Fury, sitting candidly in her locker room. Hanging in the background was the Diamond Championship as she sat in a folding chair nearly dressed for the match tonight. In a rare sight appearance-wise her hair was down, showing long and thick jet black strands that made her look even more exotic than she already was from being of mixed race.

Before I say anything about myself...I'll start by saying something about my opponents tonight and at Devil's Night. What we're going to have in either case is a mixed bag. Six different stories, six different paths that all lead into one single structure that will be the ultimate test of will.

At it's foundation, it's all about who will go into XGAMES as the Diamond Champion...but there's so much more at stake here. For Kim Hunter, it's proving to all of the doubters that she's still one of the best in the world. To Alexis, it's proving to herself that she's ready to take the next step in her career. To Tanden, it's about taking advantage of the biggest opportunity she's had so far. To Channelle and Bianca, it's about padding a couple of equally over-inflated egos. Nobody said that the ambitions were all good, but they're there.

What's it all about for me? The challenge. The fact that no matter what happens tonight, I go into Devil's Night at #6, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to have any kind of advantage. Those other five are going to come at me as well as each other tooth and nail, and if I let my guard down for a second, my time as champion will be over. Those are some steep odds to have to overcome, but I'm up for the challenge.

This has been a good year for me. An amazing one in fact. I came onto the scene and became the Pearl Champion. I held that belt with pride and faced some of the finest women in wrestling today in defending it. I lost a tough match to a tough girl in Sonya, but I bounced back quickly and rode that momentum all the way to the Diamond Title. Along the way, I found two of the best friends I've ever met in Amber and Marisol, who have shown me a lot about myself and what I can be to this business.

I think it's safe to say that I'm pretty content with everything that's happened in 2008 for me. While others have to smack-talk and try to put people down to feel like they can get somewhere, I've gotten to the top by letting my actions speak for themselves. That right there is something that even the most shallow and egotistical girl in the world can't deny that I have over them or any other woman with an XWA Contract.

So Channelle says she's better than more than half of them? Well...(grabbing the Diamond Championship from behind her) this here says that right now I'm better than ALL of them, and I've gotten to this point by being a professional, a role model to all the girls out there who need one, and most importantly, by being a good person. By being a true Diamond in this business...as strong as I am beautiful.

That's the legacy that I aim to leave behind when they talk about me years from now. It's going to be a long road to travel and DN is going to be the biggest bump in it that I've faced so far...but like I said before, I like a good challenge.
