Standing in the ring as his music plays following a break, Adam Devlin nods approvingly as the fans cheer him on. His music begins to fade, and he starts his address soon after.
I wanna go on record in saying that I am not a masochist. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But in me saying that in front of all of you people in the arena, and the millions of people watching at home...who didn't love watching Tryton get his head flown by Steven Higby last week?
The fans express their shared satisfaction by cheering on Adam's words. The camera pans out to a few "Red Devil" signs in the crowd before returning to Adam in the ring.
Now, Tommy. It's not that I don't like you. And it's not that I don't respect you. It's the fact that all of this stems from a simple ideal. Five months ago, I said something about you that's pretty damn true. And that's the fact that you have all of the tools to become not just a World Champion, but one of the all time greats. The problem is that your head has been filled with the ideology of a man who can't see past his own swelled head in Scott O'Dell. Yea, he gave you the platform to get where you are now, but who did the leg work, Tommy? Who got in the ring and performed well enough to win War Games? You did. And you could have done it all on your own without O'Dell or Alston's help. Now I know what you'd say to my thoughts, "What I do is my business, not yours." But as it stands, You'll be standing in the ring with O'Dell come XGames. And with the World Title in the balance, what makes you so sure that He wouldn't stab you in the back?
You were like me a year ago. You did this for the love of the business. It wasn't about fancy cars, private planes and expensive living. It was about the joy of being a Pro Wrestler. And all I've tried to do these last few months is try and bring that Tryton back to the surface. I doubt I even came close though, so that's the reason why tonight...I'm publicly giving up on it. You're your own man. And if you think that turning your back on what you really believe is your ticket to the top, who am I to argue what works for you? But that's not the only reason I'm out here. I'm also out here because seeing as this is the Season Finale, there's no way in the hell I'm not gettin' me some tonight. So tonight, I say we have us one more for the road. No tricks, no schemes. Just you and me, in the ring, one on one.
As the crowd continues to cheer, Tommy Tryton's music begins to play over the PA system.
