Lamb Of God's Omerta hits the PA, and the Texas fans rise to their feet with the arrival of Van Hayden.
Roach: Here comes the National Champion, who looked nothing short of amazing last week in that triple threat match. He's definitely come into his own in recent months.
Buzz: That he has, but he's got a bullseye painted on his head and you know for a fact that Finesse and Primo despite losing last week are still jockeying for position to take that belt off of him.
Van enters the ring, and his handed a mic.
Last week ladies and gents, I took on two of XWA's best pure athletes. And I beat them both. There's no denying the wrestling pedigree of Primo, and Finesse is one of the fastest rising stars in the company. But I'm the National Champion, and I don't plan on having that change anytime soon. Now last week's match had a nice stipulation attached to it. If either Primo or Finesse would have won, the man who scored the pinfall would be getting a title shot tonight. But of course I was the one who picked up the W, so that means I not only get to sit tonight off, but I get to choose which one of them I defend against at Devil's Night.
Van pauses briefly. Pacing the ring some, he speaks once again.
So for the last week, I've been weighing my options. Playing over each choice in my head. Primo is a world class wrestler. Regarded as one of the most dangerous men in the sport. Here's a guy that most in this industry try their best to avoid getting into the ring with at all costs. He's a former champion not only here in XWA, but abroad as well. And then on the other hand we have Finesse. One of the most popular and gifted talents to step into the ring in years. He's got power, speed and technical skill. He's got all of the tools to become one of the all time greats before his career is done. Two men. Two mindsets. But the same style. Their both big guys. Both have power to spare. Both have impressive wrestling skill. When you match them both up their almost identical in their approach in the ring. Primo a lil' more aggressive, Finesse a lil' more...well...finesse. So what's a guy to do? How do I choose?
The answer is real simple. I know that the two of you have bad blood. I know that the two of you have a score to settle between you. So I'm gonna help you boys settle it tonight. I want to see which one of you wants it more, so tonight I'm thinking it should be Primo vs. Finesse one on one. And from the results of this match, I'll make my decision at Devil's Night who gets a crack at me.
The fans show their approval with a bold cheer.
Buzz: Now that's what I call problem resolution. He gets to scout both men, and we get to see us one hell of a match to boot. Way to go, Van.
Roach: It's gonna be interesting to see what both Primo and Finesse have to say about the matter. We stay on top of it until bell time.
With a smile on his face, Van sets his mic on the ground. He exits the ring with a confident swagger. What would be the response of his would-be challengers?
