The United Airlines arena comes unglued as the entrance theme of Ashley Diamond fills the arena. Ashley steps out from backstage in grand fashion to the anticipation of fans around the world. Camera flashes fill the stands as Ashley makes the familiar walk from set to ring, and enters via the ring steps. Receiving a mic upon entering the ring, she stands in the center, admiring the thousands of fans cheer her on. Everyone was happy to see Ashley, but Ashley's mood was less then festive to say the very least. This would be conveyed in her words.
Two weeks ago in Athens, Greece...a life changing event for me took place. An event that I've come to terms with. One that at this very moment still confuses me, but I'm not in the least bit angered by. I've made it my business in my two years working for XWA to keep my professional and personal lives separate. But two weeks ago, that changed when Helena Troy...my half sister...decided to use my life as her own little game. And that's what's angered me. What she did was beyond tasteless. Something I've come to learn is a Troy staple. You see, if this was done behind closed doors, I wouldn't have even minded it. It is in fact a weight lifted off my shoulders, now finally knowing a truth that may have remained hidden my whole life. But you didn't take that road, Helena. You poked and prodded. You did what you Troys do best...manipulate things to your own twisted machinations. But that was your biggest mistake, Helena. Because in doing that, you've woke something up in me.
A brief pause.
What that is you ask? Go fire up the Military Channel to find out. Or hunt down a World War II Documentary and watch it to it's end. The defining moment of World War II was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It was the act of war that got the United States involved. That's what you actions at OTS was, Helena. Indeed, you did bomb my Pearl Harbor. But there was another defining comment behind that act of war. Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, the man who spearheaded and planned the attack, who was opposed to going to war with the US in the 1st place spoke words that have forever been etched in the history of the world.
"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
That's what you did, Helena. You awoke the giant. And you didn't just give her resolve, you gave her purpose. You said yourself...in your own words that Ashley Diamond as we know her is no more. And you couldn't be any more true. I left Greece changed woman. I stand in this ring a changed woman. And you have only yourself to blame for it, Helena. They say hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn...well my fury will make hell feel like a winter night in Nova Scotia. You tried to break me, Helena...but you failed. You only made me stronger. And it's my strength and resolve that's going to bury you. We may be sisters, but that's mere a technicality of birth. When I'm done with you, Helena...you'll wish I was never born.
Ashley's words had a gritty fire to them not yet heard from here before. But it wouldn't take long for Helena to emerge with a response.
