summary - Taken from Caws.ws and Gaming Ring interview
still only 30 slots for caws
you can create tag team entrances in full
ps3 and 360 both 64 layers (i believe ps2 stil has 32)
alot of new caw parts
no designs in online (next year not a problem)
caw formulas will work as base in 09 - i guess the deleting 3 times is gone)
selection screen poses (pre-moves) Hooray
copying superstar : you only get appearance & moves. not stats (could be a problem)
career mode: you start off at 38 and after a week only at a 78 overall
stats based on moves in match only . this really sucks
CAB is out
no highlight reel as entrance video (maybe 2010)
you have to been in game to view highlight reel (thinks means offline)
20 highlight reels (downloads & offline same) 20 slots for screenshots only
4 men only on online
made improvements to some match types .
(TLC, HITC, chamber and others. mainly he said they added new moves to them )
rumble is the same
new animation for falling top of cell
more moves than any other smackdown game (yaaaay)
no highlight reel on ps2 (WTF whats the point of taking out CAB for this on PS2?)
no trophies for ps3
you can turn off finisher glass animation
you can't do grapples moves as inactive tag person
secrets left to come
new match type (beat the whole rtwm) ,new superstars, and belts
And as a bonus the guy in the interview actually knew most of the moves. sounded like he really loved wrestling which is always good. Only difference for Ps2 is that Highlight reel isnt in there and graphics arent as good as Ps3 (of course)

First, I'm moving this to the 09 prep board. Second, the only thing that really affects XWA the most in terms of SVR09 is the stat system. At some point early after the game is released you'd have to imagine that there will be game hacks created. Under the circumstances we would have to enter stats hacks for each attribute, for each CAW. Now for the math: 8 Attributes (STR, SUB, DUR, TEC, SPD, CHR, HRD, STA) x 30 CAWS per card= 240 Hacks in total. And that's just for the Codebreaker device. AR MAX is another story because codes are usually longer for that one and some codes for CB don't work for it. Now as far as the stats go, I think we'll most likely use the same numbers we have this year-matching the Showman Stat Kit-for 2009. It's just the tedious process of entering all of that coding in. Before it was not necessary, but now it looks as if it will be.

Don't worry, I highly doubt any of this will carry over into 2010 from the backlash it's getting on all the message boards. We just have to subject ourselves with the crap with all the good for another year.

unless I'm mistaken this is the last year that this will be on the current gen consoles, so next gen will *hopefully* have more awesomeness to it and no lameness.
One can hope.

This is one concern that I have. Like, we all know now that if you copy a CAW from say, slot #1 to #2 on your memory card. Your only going to get there appearance, entrance, & movesets. But not there abilities and attributes.
So... my question is. Will this same affect happen copying a CAW from Memory Card #1 to Memory Card #2 ? That's something that wasn't clarified in the interview.
All in all. After watching the interview and hearing all of the reports in the last several months. To me, all the positives going into SvR 2009 outweigh all the negatives. The Create-A-Championship feature getting removed I know is a bummer to some ppl, and its going to make things a bit more difficult for efed owners. But IMHO, I have to agree with THQ in that this mode wasn't really used too much. I mean, if you weren't in any kind of simmed efeds. Casual gamers didn't care too much for this mode (heck, I only used the mode 2-3 times playing 08 lol).
In the end, I gotta say I'm still pretty siked about the game lol. I still don't think the CAW attribute building in Career Mode isn't going to be AS BAD as ppl at other forums are making it out to be.
My theory is if you play the shit out of Career Mode for about a good solid 4-6 hrs. straight. You should have your CAW in the 80's at least. It just all depends on much you put into the game really. For some, it may take longer pending on your skill level and how much time you have to put into the game.
So yeah, basically. I'm looking at the bright side of the situation instead of focusing on the negatives so much, LOL !

I don't see why ANYONE is bitching about the stats-building. Assuming you get more for being on legend difficulty, why don't you just turn all the A.I. sliders down so you rape the hell out of the computer? And if the difficulty doesn't matter, it should be that much easier on easy.

It does matter because it'll take incredibly long, to get your CAW up to proper stats. period.

You could do the WOW Thing and just farm matches. They said you could do matches over and over again. I take that as you set it on easy, beat the piss out of one guy, get 5 Star matches over and over again and rape Career Mode for higher stats. Only thing is you have to unlock abilities from each caw, but like I saw in a Punch post on caws.ws, you could focus on unlocking those 1st before you go all in on stats. It's not that bad, but it does put a huge limit on what you'll be able to get out of the game out of the box.

Exactly this HUGE limit is what I'm getting at, what are feds geared towards.....getting the full version of the game unlocked, then creating guys and simming, if each character has to go through and get the skills they each want and then the stats, then test em out to see if they'll work properly in a fed setting, we'll be months in and wont have squat.
Whether you bullshit on easy mode career or not....

That's what hacks are for. The hacks needed will MORE then be readily available by February of next year. If in fact it's true that abilities and stats don't copy over when you copy caws, that's why we will have it so that members must list their desired abilities in their 2009 profiles, so that we can apply the abilities to each caw ourselves using the hacks. A time consuming and tedious process (And I will outright BAN anyone who bitches about their caw being sent in early and not added to the database yet) but one that we will have to endure. As for stats, we're hacking everyone with the exact stats that we used for 2008 as Thr33x said. It's the people who are on next gen systems who are pretty much screwed, because you're going to have to funnel your caws through people with PS2's AND save devices to get them to us.
And if all else fails...we stay on 2008. But I doubt we'll have to.

Hows this gonna work with simmers and the constant back and forth of saves?

After getting the PS2, PSP and X360 versions of both SVR07 and SVR08, and finding different flaws between each version (either the controls or gameplay/caw limitations), I've decided that WWE SVR09 will be bought only on Xbox360 for me.
With that being said, would anyone be willing to convert the full formulas I'm gonna have to write up into PS2 formulas etc? Usually there are quite a few X/Y scale differences.

stupid question. I honestly haven't read much about SvR09 yet, but is DLC supported on PS2?
