It seems that with the edition of the CAF mode and the new Highlight reel mode (Which will go over big with the Youtube crowd no doubt), one mode has unfortunately gone the way of the Dodo Bird. The Create a Championship mode. In a recent article I read over at Gamingring.com, the made it official that the mode is gone from 2009. Which kinda sucks for sim feds, because they'll all have to use the default WWE titles. Not so much of a major blow, but cosmetically it's kinda "bleh" cuz I don't like the way some of the WWE titles look. So I guess would look like this:
World Title=World Heavyweight Title Diamond Title=Women's Title National Title=US Title Pure Title=Intercontinental Title X-Gen Title=Cruiserweight Title (Yes, it's on the game despite being inactive in RL) Pearl Title=? Onyx Title=? Tag Team Titles: World Tag Team Titles (The Raw ones) Sapphire Titles=WWE Tag Team Titles (The Smackdown ones)
They say that in career mode, Divas can go for any title, and I believe they have the Million Dollar and Attitude era titles as well as the Hardcore title available to unlock for use in Exhibition mode as well, so hopefully Divas can hold said titles in exhibition mode. Not a bad change, juts one that's going to take some getting adjusted to.

Well, if those belts are unlockable then it wouldn't be so much of a drag, or at least as big a drag as it already is. WWE's way of forcing you to use their resources and not making your own I suppose. It's true: you can't have it all in a SVR game.

or maybe we just don't have the titles being used in the matches anymore...I mean it's cool to see those titles in the video but it's not necessary....

I doubt anyone would mind the WWE titles being used in replacement. If anyone does that's a pretty asinine thing to take exception to under the circumstances. The problem is as Punch stated what belts would be subbed in for the other female titles.

The Diamond Championship could be the WWE Championship and the Pearl Title the Women's Championship, the Onyx belt you could pick another male belt (probably Cruiserweight as a substitute)

Wow, one step forward and two back, huh?
I'm sorry, I know it must seem like every year I gripe about the SD games' ''innovative'' features, and the stuff they take out in order to include it (despite having more than enough disk space, lets not get into that one...). But in my opinion there are 2 types of SD/SVR player:
A) the players that want a more arcady type of gameplay and want as little restriction on creation as possible (for wrestlers, moves, stat building, entrances, belts etc, like me.) <-- This is me!
B) and then there's the players that want a realistic style of gameplay, more of a wrestling sim with realistic restrictions on moves and stats and of course weight detection
Thus the realistic players will complain about lack of move restrictions, and arcady players will complain about move restrictions. Or rather the piss-poor implementation of the realistic elements... I think its the fact when SD has had weight detection, or stamina, its been crappy at best, whilst other games like DOR2 and No Mercy have done it so much better. It's as though THQ try to do something for the SVR series, but only half-ass it. And then when they can't get it right, it's abandoned a few games later (backstage fighting areas and being able to walk in between them, stamina, weight detection, casket/buried alive match, create a belt, taunt and ppv, in-crowd-fighting first seen in JBI, there's only ever been one Triple Team Corner Move.)
For me, gimmicky features, mini-games and matches aren't enough to save the newer games. ECW Extreme Rules matches for SVR08 weren't all that great once you got past 'Flaming Weapons!'; nor were the limited amount of Springboard moves for high flyers which I've all seen before in DOR, where they looked more brutal. MITB match on SVR07 was nothing exciting for me because I'd been having these matches since SYM thanks to AR2v2 and AR MAX hacks. If it wasn't for efeds, I would have stopped at SVR06, and if it wasn't for the many ''freedom-giving'' glitches in SVR07's CAW mode, it'd be getting sold alongside SVR08 right now (as it stands, I'm converting all my 08 CAWs backwards onto 07). I'll get 09 for Create A Finisher and hope that the rest of it is good too, but I'm seriously bummed for no Create A Belt, especially to have it replaced by an, in my opinion, dumb-sounding Highlight Reel feature.

Yeah, right now CAF (create-a-finisher) is the only reason I'll probably rush out to get SvR. I quit playing 08 on a regular basis like a week after I bought it simply cause I was bored with it. I'll probably not get SvR09 until 2009 when the price has dropped a few bucks.
