Rescuers of tradition

Welcome back to Glitter live from the AT&T Center. Toni Phillups here, and I'm standing backstage with the new XWA Sapphire Champions, Ina Morifuji and Bull Nagano. Well, 1st thing's 1st...congratulations on winning the titles at Only The Strong.

*Ina scoffs at Toni's congratulatory statement.*

Congratulations? *Hmmph* No such sentiments are needed, Ms. Phillups. Bull and I set out to accomplish a goal, and we attained it. And in doing so, exposed a fatal chink in the armor of The Diamond Devils.

A chink in the armor?

Indeed. For all of the trash talk they did beforehand, how fitting is it that Hayley Jonas would leave the cage in such a hurried manner? Essentially leaving us to do one of the things we've done well since arriving in XWA, beat on Kim Hunter. What kind of team mate leaves her partner in the ring alone? A lousy one, that's what. They've prided themselves on being a well oiled machine for so long. The sad part of that is that all machines break down eventually. And they broke down when it was all on the line. I wonder if ever they'll fix there little machine, however? *BAH!* It makes no difference in any case. Bull and I have rescued these Sapphire Titles from languishing in the obscurity they've suffered in for the last four months. That's what matters most to us.

Yikes! Don't you think that's a rather harsh statement to make, Ina?

It's only harsh to the peons who wish not to accept the truth. The Diamond Devils were unworthy of holding these titles. They would much rather sit and wait for challengers to come to them. They were never true champions. They were glory hogs. And their glory is over and done with. We on the other hand, we intend on being true champions. To restore the intended honor to these titles they were meant to have when they were created. And we intend on doing that not by waiting for challengers. Oh no, we intend on taking the fight to The Diamond Division ourselves.

How do you plan on doing that, I wonder?

Simple. We're issuing and open challenge. Any two females, it doesn't matter if you've teamed before or have never teamed with anyone in your life. Tonight, you face Bull and I in one on one contests. If one of you manage to defeat us, then we grant you a Sapphire Title shot at Devil's Night. And if both of you defeat us, we grant you that title shot at next week's show instead. Of course, should what inevitably will happen in both Bull and myself being the winners occur, not only do you wait until Devil's Night, but we get to decide what kind of match shall be made. It's so simple a concept a child could grasp it. So let us see which Diamonds are up to the task of it.

*Ina nods to Bull. Before the two could take their leave however, they were graced by the presence of another Diamond who indeed was up to the task now laid out.*

[sayuri]

The crowd cheers as it was one of XWA's original Diamonds, Sayuri Irabu who steps into the mix. She doesn't waste time speaking out on Ina's comments.

While I am happy that you, fellow Japanese have won championships here in XWA. I'm not all to thrilled about how you conduct yourselves. The Diamond Devils are a worthy team. Both Hayley Jonas and Kim Hunter are veterans in this industry. And even veterans have slip ups. I don't know what the status of them will be after all of this, but I do know that it took you both two tries to get it right. So their more worthy a championship pair then you think. But that's not the reason why I'm here. I'm here because I want to answer your challenge. If it's a matter of taking the fight to the rest of the girls, then look no further then the one standing right in front of you.

With confidence, Sayuri waits for the next reply.

[rbn]

*Bull gives an unimpressed scowl at Sayuri. Ina looks to her reaction with equal disdain before speaking on both of their behalf.*

I would expect you being from the great nation of Nippon to understand our plight, but it would seem you've been influenced by these Gaijins far to long for you to see things as we do. But from were we stand, we only see just you. Unless you plan to face both of us tonight that is. Not very fair odds, but we'll take them none the less. *Giggles*

*As Ina chuckles away, they wait for Sayuri's response.*

[sayuri]

Sayuri gives a coy smirk, then responds.

Oh, but I do have a partner, Ina. In fact, here she comes now.

And so Sayuri's partner makes her grand entrance.

Into the scene comes the always animated Sara Beck.

Well what the hell do we have here? Ninja girl and her big ass Oni pickin' fights...well if that don't frost ya'! You're in luck though, sweet cheeks, cuz I like fightin'. I like it a lot. I like it almost as much as I a double shot of bourbon and lookin' at Jimmy Ames' ass. And he's got a nice ass if ya' never bothered lookin'. Just like Sayuri here said, if you're lookin' for a fight, ya' got one right here. In fact, I'll go ya' one better...

Sara gets into the grill of Ina.

Cuz I'm gonna be the one fightin' you, cupcake. And Sayuri here is gonna hand Tall, Dark & ugly over their her lunch. How's that float you're ice cream?

[rbn]

*Ina seemed actually satisfied with Sara's invitation.*

*Hmmph* That's fine by me. It's not everyday one gets the opportunity to decimate a former Diamond Champion. But I'll take this chance with vigor. I guess there isn't much else that needs to be said then, ladies. We'll do the rest of our talking with actions...in the ring. Come now, Bull, let us go.

*Ina starts on her way back to the locker rooms. Bull continues to glare at Sayuri before following her associate in stride.*

As Ina and Bull leave the interview, Sara turns to Toni.

Ya' see those two their? There's a term for them. Dead Women Walking. We're gonna mop the floor with their asses, and then we're gonna mop the floor with 'em next week and take those shiny belts off of 'em. Ain't that right, Sayuri?

[sayuri]

Sayuri responds with something rather uncharacteristic of her.

Bet your ass we will.

The two ladies high five, then take leave of the interview as well.

Tony: There you have it. It's going to be an interesting pair of match ups to say the least. Back to you guys at ringside.

Fin
