From Pro Wrestler to Charity Chairman?
Most of the World knows Keith Wyle from the Squared Circle of the XWA but what most of you don't know is that Keith Wyle grew up from the streets of Miami. Raised by his grandmother most of his life she instilled in him a great sense of humility that wouldn't be obvious from his time on the mic in the ring but when meeting him in person you get a different side of the Wyldman
"Yea most people are kinda shocked when they meet me in person, most people expect me to be like how I am in the ring and then when notice I'm not like that they are like 'Woah'"
But due to a injury sustained in the ring he has been sidelined for a couple of months but instead of just rehabbing his injury like most in his position would do Keith decided to take another approach...
"My Grandmother and family in general did so much for me and my brother, they sacrificed many things so that we could make it and while I was rehabbing I thought about those days. I thought about how I had made it and how I could give back but I didn't want to just give money to some charity and call it giving back."
So instead of just giving money Keith did something different, he started The Next Level Foundation, a Charity which takes a different look to help the inner city kids that Keith says are not being looked after
"There are many charities out there and I'm not trying to discredit them by saying that a certain group is being overlooked, to do that I would've had to say that and then do nothing. At the same time the charities that do focus on the kids in the inner city just send them school supplies and food on certain days which is good but to really affect change you have to change their mindset and that's what Next Level is out about...it's about showing them what's waiting for them on the Next Level when they set their minds on a goal"
and It's not just Keith donating his time and money, it seems that other XWA superstars have joined in on the act, for the recent trip to Orlando fellow XWA Superstar and Keith's girlfriend Amber Gianni joined him and hundreds as Keith and Company filled two 747 planes to the vacation destination which included a visit to both Disney and Universal with bill being footed by Keith and Next Level.
"The Whole point of the trip was to show them what they will have excess to, what they'll be able to do when they reach that next level, when they get an education and a good job."
With all this charity work going on when the asked about his wrestling career he only had this to say
"To quote a great philosopher 'I'll be back'"
