As OTS continued on, Sarah Warfield stood in the center of the ring with a microphone to make an announcement.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm out here to inform you all of what's in store for not just the Diamond Title, but both Platinum Titles of the XWA. As you all know, late tonight Brandon Payne will challenge XXL for the XWAWorld Title and Jamie Fury will battle Channelle for her XWADiamond Title inside of the Steel Cage that hangs over this ring!
What I'm here to to tell you all, and more importantly to them in particular is the ramifications of these two matches. Tonight, regardless of victor, the XWA front office has decided that those for individuals will in fact be a part of the next PPV's main event, The Devil's Playground at Devil's Night 2008!!!
Obviously, if the champions lose, they would join former champions, the likes of Ethan Bain, Robby Sylk and Roze inside of the DP, but should the challengers lose, they will have one more shot to become the champion as we draw closer to the mother of all PPVs, XGAMES 2.
Now, you've heard from one half of the Platinum Champions tonight, do you all want to hear from the ladies?
"YES!!!"
Okay then, let's bring them out!

The sound of Jamie Fury's theme plays after Sarah's segue. The fans hit their feet and cheer on the challenger as she stepped out onto the stage, already dressed and ready for action. High fiving the fans down the ramp to the ring, there was a feeling of excitement on her face as was the case with everyone who was in attendance.
Rose: Can you sense a certain confidence coming from Jamie Fury right now? She's got some extra pep in her step tonight...
Lucy: Remember, this woman's already got a pinfall victory against Channelle this season. Not taking anything away from the champion, but let's face it...she's going to have her hands full tonight if she wants to head into Devil's Night with that title.
Jamie stepped into the ring and the first thing she did was shake the hand of the Commissioner with an eager smile. Sarah smiled back and accepted the gesture, then handing Jamie the microphone to give her the stage.
A few months ago, Sarah here hand-picked me and a few other girls to become XWA Diamonds. I stand here right now to tell you all, and you too Sarah, the most obvious thing that can be said about that decision on your part...the fact that you made a smart decision.
There are quite a few newcomers who've came to the XWA, and I'm not taking anything way from what they've done...but tonight, the very woman who beat me for the Pearl Title months ago will step into a match where the odds aren't in her favor, but Sonya Robbins has the heart of a champion! Then you look at Alexis Valentine, another girl I've been in the ring with, and yeah...she might not be a dazzling type, but she's got love for this business and she never quits.
The fans agree, cheering on as she continues.
Then of course, you have me. I can be the confident one and say that I knew that I would be in this situation sooner than later, but to be honest, with the level of competition that we've got here in the Diamond Division this year, it really could have been anyone standing here in this ring right now. But to counter something that I believe I heard Bianca Dianaco talk about briefly earlier...there was a reason why I was picked to be the #1 contender.
I came into the XWA this year, and the first thing I did was win the Pearl Championship. I held that title with pride and I defended it with honor. I stepped up to every challenge and overcame them week after week until Sonya found a way to overcome me. That you see ladies and gentlemen is the only singles loss I've had all season long!
Rose: You know what? She's right! I hand't even noticed that until now. She has only lost one match all year long!
So...with that said, you have one dominant force on the men's side...the man who like me has only lost one match in Kayn, and on the women's side you have as they have called me-and as I've proven to the world-the Diamond Dominator Jamie Fury, a fact that our champion herself can attest to.
THAT'S why I'm standing in this ring right now. That's why I joined the XWA. To be among the best and to prove that I'm one of them. I've accomplished that goal, and tonight I have the chance to do one better and become THE best. The XWADiamond Champion.
Looking back on that title, it hasn't been around for very long, but the women who've held that title have made it into the most coveted prize in women's wrestling and they've proven themselves worthy to hold the belt. You know what Channelle? That includes you as well. People can say what they want about your attitude, but the fact of the matter is that after two straight PPVs, you are still the champion hook or crook. The time has come tonight though for me to prove that I'm worthy of holding that belt as well...
Looking up to the rafters...
...and when that cage comes down, that's exactly what I intend on doing. This is going to be your most physically demanding match yet Channelle, not just for a title, but of your entire career! If you come out of this match still the champion like you have the last two times, you'll have taken worthiness to a whole other level, but like I said, that's what I'm coming out here to do, and you're not going to outwork me tonight. My best effort is something that few can overcome. I can only count how many who've done it successfully with ONE finger!
Do you think you can be the second?
That was the lingering question she left for the champion to answer.

Not only do I think that I can be the second Jamie...
Channelle stepped out onto the stage with one hand on a mic and the other on the Diamond Championship. Looking down towards the ring, her eyes fixated on the challenger as the crowd welcomed her with boos.
...I know that I can. Even better, I know that I WILL. You say that this is going to be my biggest test tonight? Isn't that what the other said about them as well? Isn't that what EVERYONE says?
"Oh there's no way that Channelle can beat so-and-so, she's not good enough..." and yet, just like you said, who's the one who still has the belt? That's right...ME.
The more that the "critics" have to say about me, the more fun I have shutting them all up in the end. I bet everyone was going to have a blast after The Classic, because there was no way that I should've even survived that match, let alone walk out with this title still in possession, but that's exactly what I did.
Then came a month of back and forth with Alundra Jade, the "veteran" wrestler. She was supposed to kick my ass so the "critics" said, but I matched up with her hold for hold and when it counted at Solstice, beat her 1-2-3.
You'd think that with all of that on my resume that people would start to get it, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Now you come along, and once again everyone thinks that I'm going to go down.
Once again, I'm going to have to prove them all wrong. I'll give you credit Jamie, you are more of a force to be reckoned with than probably any other Diamond out there, because unlike the rest who talk out of their asses you let your actions speak for themselves. You know, you and me are a lot alike in that way. I say what I do and do what I say, and you? You just do without saying a word.
The one thing you won't be doing tonight though, is beating me. Becoming the Diamond Champion. See, I've grown fond of being the best female wrestler in the XWA no matter any other bitch has to say about it, and I want that to be the case for as long as possible. You should look on the bright side, at least you've been named to the Devil's Playground match! That means you get one more shot after tonight, and with a little help from 4 other women you might be able to pull it off! Might...
But tonight, nothing is changing. I'm going to once again shut all of the critics up, and this time when it's by beating you Jamie, nobody is ever going to have anything to say ever again!

Strong words by the champion, and as usual she had something to say about anyone and everyone, even speaking in a general sense.
Sounds to me like you've got a lot to prove there, Channelle. A whole lot to prove. There's something that you don't understand though, that there's a definition to what it is that you just talked about.
It's called "being the champion".
You see, being the champion means that you HAVE to prove yourself each and every night you step into this ring. There are always going to be critics, and there's always going to be haters so long as you're on top, because as many people who want to be there in your place, there's 10,000 more people who just want the satisfaction of watching you fall.
Like I said, so far you haven't given them what they wanted, but this isn't about the attitude with me. This isn't about who's the "baddest bitch on the block". This is about the XWADiamond Championship-like you said, the symbol of being the best female wrestler in the company, and dare I say the entire world. You might enjoy that distinction now, but I'm the one who wants it here and now. Nobody else.
Walking closer to the ropes, Jamie locks eyes with Channelle now. She was more focused now than she had probably ever been before in her entire wrestling career.
So you don't need to worry about anything else. Not the critics, not the haters, not your rep and not the rest of Diamond Division. The only thing that you need to focus on tonight is finding some way to beat Jamie Fury and walk out the defending champion. When that cage comes down later tonight, I should be all that's on your mind...because you better believe that you and that Diamond Title is the only thing on mine.
Everything else is being blocked out until that bell rings twice. Until then, I'm not worrying or even focus on the Devil's Playground. Here and now, Only The Strong 2008, that's where my focus is. If that's not where your head is at, you'll be leaving empty handed.

Don't you worry your pony-tailed head on where mines is Fury. It's where it's always been-on top and on what it is that I have to do to stay there. Don't think that just because you're the "Diamond Dominator" that this is going to be any different from any other night that any other Diamond has tried to take what's mine.
Pacing around the stage slightly, Channelle was quite focussed herself as she spoke about things. There was still the sound of boos from the fans filling the arena, but it was one of those moments (moreso than the usual) in which she paid them no mind at all.
I said it before, and I'll say it again...it is a new day. All you are to me right now is the next challenger. The next woman I have to beat, and you'd better believe that I'm going to WHATEVER IT TAKES to get that done...same as it ever was, same as it always will be!
You talk about how you want this belt so bad...let's see what you're willing to do to take it from me, because I've got no plans on leaving empty handed tonight, Fury. Nobody else has been good enough, so what makes YOU so special?

There isn't any that's "special" about me Channelle. I'm not any different from any other person back in that locker room, man or woman. There's no secret quality to who I am or why I'm here.
I'm just focused. Focused tonight on an opportunity that few get in this business and even fewer come through with, that being winning a world title. That means something more to me than it will EVER mean to you. Other girls want it for the fame or the notoriety, and none of that matters to me. I don't want to be a champion because it'll get me posters and magazine covers and movie or TV roles.
I want to be the champion because I've worked my ass off long and hard for a long time to get to this point. I want to be the champion because it's been a dream I've had ever since I took my first bumps in wrestling school. From the moment that I laced them up, looking up to women in this business who helped to pave the way so that something like the Diamond Division can even stand on it's two feet, I aspired to be not just another face in the crowd, but to be one of the best to ever have stepped in the ring!
I've earned all the respect I have to this day, and I've gotten it by working harder than I did the last time each time I step into the ring. That's what's going to put me over tonight Channelle. All I see in you is the last step towards fulfilling my dream. All I see is one platinum belt that inches...centimeters away from my fingertips, and I will do everything that you're willing to do and then some to take what's yours and make it mine. That's what makes me good enough.

It sounds like you've got some strong little ambitions there, doncha Jamie? It's fitting that the name of this event is ONLY THE STRONG, because only the woman who's willing to show how strong her ambitions are tonight is gonna come out on top.
She nods and smiles a confident smile, standing tall in the center of the stage at that point.
So far, I seem to be doing pretty damn well there, so if you're putting money on this one people, I'd say bet it on the girl who's proven she's championship caliber. You're on the rise Jamie, I'll give you that...but I'm not quite ready to give my star up just yet.

And who said anything about giving it up? My job tonight pure and plain is to TAKE IT. You're on the money with one thing though...tonight, only the strongest will survive.
I've just got one more thing to say about that. Channelle...bring the noise and bring the sound, because I'm bringing the FURY!!!
And those were the last words spoken before tonight's match. Champion and challenger locked eyes yet again as Fury's theme began to play once more. In a few hours time, they'd be locking horns.
Buzz: I don't think I've seen either of those two women more focused or driven as they are tonight!
Roach: Jamie Fury just brings that out of you it seems. She's just eyes on the prize 100%. No-nonsense, straightforward and never folding. That's why she's where she is right now, and if she can keep it up tonight, we may see a new Diamond Champion!
Rose: Let's remember what Lucy said about the champion though, she's as resilient as they come. She finds a way to win, and in some cases a way simply not to lose, and that's just as important sometimes...
Lucy: There isn't going to be any cutting of corners though tonight. We're going to have two of the best women wrestlers in the world going at it for the greatest prize in women's wrestling today. Channelle is going to have to earn her stripes again if she's going to succeed here, but I agree with what she said...there'll be no critiques anymore if she beats Fury here.
Rose: To put it bluntly...this is gonna be an awesome match.
