Magnus Von Schwartz, still the Pure Champion following another strong performance at Solstice stood in the center of the XWA ring. In his black robe and obviously ready to compete, he demanded the ring announcers microphone.

Greece. There is no more a fitting place for a modern day warrior to test his skill. From the Trojans to the Spartans to the Athenians, this land has been the home to many great soldiers and scholars alike.

I fashion myself to be both of those and more. That is why I stand in this ring, to prove it to yet another challenger tonight with this...the Pure Championship on the line. My last match against Nathan Browne was the precursor to as I called it The Magnus Era of this championship. A galant effort from that young man it was, but the outcome was not a surprise to me.

The Greco-Roman style of wrestling is the ancestor of this title moreso than any other in existence. It's only fitting that I, the man who now exemplifies pure wrestling moreso than any other man in existence demonstrate this. Browne was the latest to find out that I am the very essence of Pure wrestling, like the gladiators of the coliseum...like the athletes of the ancient Olympics. As I have said before, the Magnus Era of the Pure Title has begun, and tonight it shall continue.

Now...

The German grappler, never short on confidence turns his attention to the entrance.

...all you will need to do is come out here and step into this ring. The title is on the line, Pure Rules enforced as usual. Whomever you may be, come now...we haven't all night.

Magnus now, along with all those watching wait for a new challenge to step into the arena.

OLD SCHOOL STYLE.


a video plays over the screen showing last months defeats to Osiris. and Toreno down on the ground. but after this there is a training montage that See's Toreno running treadmill and lifting waits. then the screen goes black. and then a final message is shown. "The King Of Old School is Back"

Fireworks shoot from the ground and Coming Home plays over the PA System. fans are worked into a frenzy as Steve Toreno again makes an appearance at a PPV one month on from his loss. Toreno appears on stage to a round of applause. he walks down to the ring. he gets tot he bottom and rolls into the ring. he picks up a Mic that has been left on the floor for him.

So Magnus You want a gladiator? well unfortunately for you i have arrived. you see being the King Of Old School means that you have to be able to wrestle. now i don't mean any of this flying crap no no. i mean technically wrestle something that the belt you have signifies, or the closest thing to it. this is the belt that i should be trying to win. if i want to make my name stick then i am going to have to beat the King Of Sport himself.

Now your right we haven't got all night. i kinda want to relax and take a nice long shower tonight. but i want that belt to be in my living room when i exit. i want to win that belt off you. now you want to prove yourself as the best Pure Champion? then look no further at the purest wrestler XWA has yet to see the best of. so how about it Magnus?

Ah yes, Steven Toreno.

MVS paused to shurg his shoulders back and crick his neck, then raised the mic once more.

I've done quite a bit of research-homework if you will-about you. A man who fashions himself as being as your video displayed "Old School". Well, I think it to be most obvious that there is no man in the XWA who is more "Old School" than I am, contrary to your own claims.

The claim that intrigues me the most though is you stating that you are the purest wrestler XWA has yet to see the best of. There has indeed been a certain level of brilliance that you have shown to the world thus far, times in which you've seized victory and times where it slips from your fingertips. You are right there in the same category of Mr. Browne last week, men on the cusp of being the future greats of this sport...

But before that happens my boy, there are lessons that need to be taught to you. I will be that man tonight to show you where it is that you stand, and what is it that you need to do to reach the next plateau.

Slowly unbuttoning the title from his waist, Magnus raises it high to the sky.

So it's this title that you desire? Well what I desire is a good match from the best competition in the world. We shall she tonight whether or not either of us can get what it is that we want.

Toreno Smiles. nobody had researched him before.

I'm flattered you consider me worth researching and that little comment about me "There has indeed been a certain level of brilliance that you have shown to the world thus far" i will take that compliment on board. but there really isn't much to me. my history has been littered with goods and bad like everybody Else's. however i am on the cusp of greatness here in XWA. but as you said tonight we will see.

Toreno looks out to the fans and then back to Magnus.

but contrary to your claims i am as every bit as Old School as you are if not more. now i have a huge respect for men who take the path of Old School. few have succeeded, but you have done. and that warrants my respect. but that will not mean that i will not do everything in my power to beat you. Nate Browne was a nice warm up. but now is where real test of you abilities is displayed.

if i need to learn then so do you. something i have learned recently thanks to a known enemy was to never let an opponent get to you mentally. i let this man get to me and i lost three times in a row. but i will not make that same mistake. but enough about me. you have displayed a very good performance so far in XWA. you have beaten a man who defended that belt 10 times. that takes true ability. and that is something i desire in an opponent. somebody who can take the match to the next level. so you want a good match from the best competition? well i am happy to oblige and give you a match that you will never forget.

I assure you my dear boy that those so-called "mind games" have never been a factor to or against me, for my mental advantage has been what I have exploited against everyone that I have faced in the XWA thus far.

It is as I have said all along, that this is far more a mental contest than it is a physical one. Perhaps you have learned that lesson in your encounters with that Osiris fellow, perhaps you haven't. There indeed are lessons then that I myself will not be teaching you tonight, but rather you teaching yourself.

Make no mistake though Steven, this is your trip to the proverbial learning tree. Tonight will be your greatest test to date, for I am as mentally sound as I am physically sound. I always seek a worthy challenge, and we will see tonight through all of your trials and tribulations whether or not you are one of those challenges, or whether you are as you say that Browne was at Solstice...a warm up.

Now that I have my opponent for this evening...I shall see you in this ring soon. Prepare yourself.

That was Magnus' final word to Toreno. All that was left now was to do battle once more in the squared circle. Could Steve rise to this tall challenge?
