One step closer (Promo/Pryce)

Jimmy Ames stands backstage with "Interviewer Xtraordinare" Fabiola. The subject of the evening was obviously the opening round of the OTS Tournament.

Tonight you go one on one with a white hot (No pun intended) Christian Pryce. All for the chance of being the Only The Strong winner, and landing the coveted final spot in "The Last Dance" at XGames II. How are you feeling, Jimmy?

I can answer that in one word, Fabs. Amped. Tonight I get a chance to step into the limelight. Or at least I get one step closer to it. Last year, one of the Only The Strong co-winners went on to win the title at XGames. Will that happen again? Who knows. But you can bet your ass that I and the rest of the field aren't just doing this for our health. This is as big as it gets. Win and you move on, lose and you're done. Fitting that OTS comes around just when the MLB Playoffs starts. Because it has that playoff atmosphere. Who will win? Will it be one of the big names? Or will a "Wild Card" snake his way out as the winner? No one knows, and that's what makes it exciting.

Is there anything you'd like to say to your 1st round opponent tonight?

You know there is. Pryce, you've spent the last month beatin' ass on that guy Sylvester. You're last match was a Ladder Match that you just barely squeaked out the W in. Well tonight, there's no Ladders. All there is is you, me, air and and opportunity. And if you plan on moving on into the 2nd round, you'd better bring your A game. No...your A+ game. Bring everything you've got, and then bring a lil' bit more. Because you can bet the farm that I'm comin' out firing. And in the end, may the best man win. Let's burn down the house and show the world why we belong in The Last Dance.

We cut again backstage where Christian Pryce was watching Jimmy's interview. Something was odd. Pryce wasn't wearing his wrestling gear, no he had a plain white t-shirt and black jeans. he obviously wasn't ready for his match later with Jimmy. while watching this segment he started to smile. when it was over he turned to the camera behind him.

Ah Jimmy, Plucky little Jimmy. your right tonight is going to be full of excitement. tonight is the start of a long road to see whether we can take the limelight, or be blinded by it. i don't plan of being blinded by it, i have already seen the light. and it comforts it.

Pryce takes a deep breath. and then his sinister look re-appears, a look we know so well from his battles with Sylvester.

Weren't you watching Jimmy? Ive had Sylvester's number since Soul Survivor. i have beaten him time and time again, to a point where its no more than a mere formality. now you, well as you already know you are different from him. that makes things interesting for me. i get to face a man that i have little respect for, but respect nonetheless. you are a former X-Gen Champion. something that i will never be. but thats OK, i can make up for that by beating him.

There is no doubt since my return i have been on a streak, my only loss came from Kayn. but this is a new challenge one that i will enjoy taking up. you want to talk A+ games then bring your own, cause firing on all cylinders will only make things easier for me. you want to beat me? your going to have to think about it, cause i am not the man to be beaten by brute force or guts. i am only going to be beaten by intelligence, something you may have, but something you will need to master if you want to advance to round two.

Pryce shakes his head slowly, he steps back as if he is about to exit but stops. he looks at the camera on last time.

Oh and Jimmy, don't make this a formality for me.

Pryce then walks out of shot. a few seconds pass and Fabiola comes running into shot. she looks around looking for Pryce. she shrugs her shoulders and leaves. Pryce must have forgotten the interview.
