Just a segment following a grueling and competitive contest for the National Title, Van is approached backstage by the beautiful Fabiola, who inquires about his thoughts on the night's events.
Van, let me be the 1st person to congratulate you on a most impressive win tonight. Beating a man the level of Scott O'Dell is a tall task, and you rose to the occasion. It's gotta make you feel good that you were able to beat him in his own element.
Good? Oh no, Fabiola. That's not even the word I'd use. Elated is more like it. Tonight, I proved without a shadow of a damn doubt that Van Hayden is the truth. The real goods. I stepped in the ring with the man widely regarded as the best in the biz. The benchmark. "The Franchise". And I out wrestled him. Plain and simple. I didn't beat him decisively. I didn't dominate him. I out wrestled him. And that's the point I wanna' get across above and beyond all things.
That's your third Title defense since winning it back in May. And defense by defense the competition's become stiffer. What's next for you, Van?
It's real simple...
Van turns and looks into the camera.
To the next man who decides he wants to get in the ring with me, and challenge me for this title, know this. Know that the man you stand across the ring with isn't just another name. He isn't just another face. He's a warrior. The warrior. If tonight didn't show the world where my game is, then I'll be happy to show the next chump first hand. Scott said that he's got some big plans going into 2009. Well I've got plans of my own. And they involve me holding this title. What's next? Who's next? I don't have a clue. But if there's one thing I do know, it's that whoever they are, they'd better damn well know exactly what they're up against. Draw your sword and prepare for battle. 'Cuz I'm comin' for blood, and I'm takin' your damn head. It's like the old movie said, In the end...
There can be only one.
With a smirk, Van looks back to Fabiola and continues towards the locker room. Solstice rolls on into the next segment.
End.
